Are there aftermarket decals to make this kit look like a VF-1 Wolf Pack F-14D or the prototype "Super Tomcat" (7th prototype, BuAer 157986) resting on the USS Intrepid? I always thought the F-14 looked good trimmed in red! VF-1 has the best squadron markings IMHO after VF-86 Jolly Rogers. It's not inaccurate to decorate an F-14D in VF-1 colors. VF-1 was originally slated to receive F-14Ds before the F-14 production shutdown. VF-1 was disestablished in 1993, the same year the USS Ranger, its homebase (at the time), was retired. BuAer 157986 might have the most interesting history of the Grumman test planes, aside from the the 1X plane that replaced the first F-14. Too bad 1X wasn't preserved! 157986 also had one of the better individual F-14 paint jobs.
