You absolutely made the right decision with the red yarn. The combination of the two has created a drop-dead gorgeous fabric that needs nothing more than stockinette. The yarn is the star, the stitch is the understudy.

I love your "advent" what a good plan! Those vintage/90s stripes are fantastic. When you showed your swatch of the Newburgh Yarn Co Hudson DK & Fyberspates together my eyes were drawn to the baubles near the bottom of your tree... those colours are the same and they are GORGEOUS!! And the PIZZA socks gah!!! Love love.

Love your striped socks and your start of red sweater is absolutely incredible. I saw someone else did a bright red and dark mohair or surrey and stunning. It looks beautiful and should be perfect.

I did the same thing with red yarn i used a different color of red and i think they look amazing and yes the word is dimension. I just realized i did the same with a rust yarn and lace burgundy it looked amazing.

I love my 9" circulars! They do take some getting used to but when you get the hang of them they are Amazing! I use them until I get to the toe and eventually need to switch to dpns and then kitchener st. with those. I am back and forth with heels though, sometimes long chaogoo other times dpns. I do shadow wrap heels but would like to learn an afterthought heel one day.

I do the same thing! The afterthought is great and so easy -- if you can do a wedge toe then you've already mastered it!

Agree wholeheartedly about the Wicked book, it was downright painful to read. Love the red sweater fabric, it is magical. I use Addi 10-inch circs for all my socks. Knits N Pieces podcast Kelly and Noelle are exploring flexi-flips for socks, they like them so far.
