If you are going to be stressed, try to make it before a meal and relax and de-stress after a meal. Visceral fat is sensitive to cortisol, and will burn more or store more under stress.

I really appreciate the information that you keep coming! I have belly fat and believe most of it was contributed to insulin resistance and stress. I ate so much cereal and brownies in 2020 and 2021 because of the stress. Since starting IF in May, I can see a decrease in belly fat and starting therapy helped with the mental stress and keeping motivated to stick to IF. I have to tone since my stomach is more round since I didn’t rebuild my core after childbirth. I’m working on that with diastasis recti workouts. Thanks for the information!!

Thanks so much for this video! It really helped me through my belly fat struggles. I work evening shift. I always need a midnight snack. It’s hard to find a healthy snack for that time. If you have any suggestions that would be much appreciated.

Stress is just a ... it messes up everything. I'm quite a stressful person and I can honestly experience when it has taken over, I feel bloated, I get constipated and I actually feel like my weight's gone up significantly. I've had some time off these days so I take long walks outside ( around 90minutes and I keep stretching and doing bodyweight exercises ). Lately, I've also added drinking herbal teas again to my daily schedule even though it's hot where I live ( never being a fan of ice tea ). Stress management is actually why I still practice intermittent fasting :).

My husband had early onset Alzheimer's 14 years, multiple surgeries, several accidents requiring year long rehabs, suicided. Boy did I gain belly fat. Recently diagnosed pre diabetic so now X for me.

Subcutaneous fat on the belly is not subjected to the lower insulin levels. Even IF is not getting rid of the last stubborn subcutaneous fat , I had to introduce exercises to target the "female" areas, hips, upper thighs and lower belly, we'll see. Love your videos, so clear and right there with the science. Recipes too, just made your protein chia pudding!

I have two young kids and work full time, and I’ve found losing the belly fat after the 2nd kid so challenging. Now it all makes sense. I’m stressed at all times. I’ll have to figure this equation out!!

I work overnight 5 days a week and have small children. I don't know how to reduce that type of stress. I sleep max 6hrs a day. Trying intermittent fasting but weight won't budge. Tummy won't budge.

I really enjoy the tips you give. I was wondering if you can do a video on low carb candys like Atkins. I eat one low carb candy from time to time but in the back of my mind, I'm thinking I shouldn't. I enjoy your advise and was wondering what your thoughts are on this.

I'd love to hear what you think of carb cycling, on workout days I think those carbs give me the energy boost I want, but I don't know if it's going to effect my weight lose, I've heard a lot of people say it works but I would love to know your thoughts about it and get the science background. I've done IF for almost 18mo and have lost 40 lbs and 6in from my waist. I am however puzzled as to why my fasted glucose it consistently between 100 and 105. That is unchanged from prior to IF.

I would think it matters more what is IN the smoothie, than when it is. Autumn has a smoothie often for breakfast, but she uses specific ingredients in her smoothies. I believe there is a video specifically about it. 😊

SO happy you're loving my propro!🤓 I usually recommend opting for smoothies as a first or second meal option (break-fast or lunch) as they can be quite satiating and help prevent snacking throughout the day.

I did a double hip replacement in Dec. 2021 went back to work in April 2022 got hurt in work with a shoulder fracture in May 2022. I am 66 years old and have always been activebut my body is one big sag right now. I need help and advice because I am still rehabbing my shoulder and it;s only been 8 months since my hip replacement. What do you suggest?

I can't even with the "it's calories in calories out" people, especially ones who pair that with name-calling. You can tell them it's been proven to not be true for quite a long time now (literally years), but boy do they refuse to let go! It's really quite sad, because we know they're not only not going to reach their goals in the long-term, they're also damaging their bodies which makes it even harder for them. Not to mention the unnecessary suffering. 😞

Hey Autmn I've got a question which is probably relatable to many others. So I am diabetic and I feel that I can do a prolonged fast, but I don't want to skip my medication for diabetes. I'm taking metformin with breakfast and dinner. So I almost force feed my breakfast some days.

Hi Mike speak to your doctor. Metformin works with your food, hence why you are told to take it with or just after food, unless you are on a long acting variant or a combo of meds. You can speak to a pharmacist also for guidance. I am not directing or prescribing for you as I dont know you as an individual but it MIGHT be possible for example that if you normally take your metformin at breakfast and evening meal , then if you decide to fast until lunchtime you then dont take your metformin until lunchtime. But I cannot emphasise this enough , consult with your doctor before you do this, as your individual circumstances may prohibit this, but ask them as it may be possible. Good luck.

I've been stressed every single day for 4 1/2 yrs after building contractor stole the last $80k to my name sending false photos that my house was being built while I lived out of state so left me my dogs pups and cats homeless!!!! Two choices death which would had been better than the past damn 4 1/2 yrs or live in RV which turns out to be POS mold infested RV Rage stress that's my life. Too many darn dogs now too!! I don't eat. I barely eat protein. When I eat it's cakes or cookies My cortisol levels are skyhigh!!!! Watching you that if I get out of this mess. Try to lose this stress menapaus belly fat Use to be major athlete. Disabled with severe back injury taking all my sports away from me. But just don't eat right

You forgot one very important factor: hormones. After menopause, when estrogen levels plummet, women start gaining belly fat that's distributed just like on men. Tell the WHOLE story here.

Considering insulin resistance also goes up after menopause, I've found with many of my clients that post-menopause weight gain can also be addressed with what I discussed in this video.

@@AutumnBates -you neatly avoided the whole 'tell the whole story' issue. This isn't the first time you've omitted information. Insulin isn't a main cause of belly fat gain in post-menopausal women. Lack of estrogen is.

The suggestion that you can target fat loss in the stomach specifically is COMPLETELY unscientific and incorrect. Why are you deliberately trying to misinform your viewers??
