Solo cups are great for painting, but I love to use the leftover (cleaned out of course) large containers from cottage cheese/yogurt/etc. Those have a lid, so if you are waiting between coats, just snap that sucker on. And it is a throw away too!🙌

My husband made his own soundproof panels for his home office out of rock wool and wrapped it in a printed burlap. It actually looks really cool up on the walls and helps a ton for sound. It was way cheaper than any pre-made panels and it looks a lot better.

Came to say I also built sound tiles for our podcasting studio out of a wood frame, Safe n Sound insulation and light breathable fabric. But I’ve also recorded in a closet with clothing, and under a comforter a few times. Anything to get good sound quality.

You should paint the whole room in the wedge wood blue color. My Grandmother had her living room painted in this color with white trim and it has remained gorgeous for 75 years.

I think a slender table to go in front of the window right behind your desk would be perfect. That way you could grow some herbs or flowers or just a couple of plants. Would really set it off. Just my opinion. Great job. Love your show.

Love it! If you go on World Markets website and search wood vase there are some vases that would pull the warmer wood tones of your desk into the room. I like the color of the baskets because it does the same thing. I think a wood vase or sculpture on the very top of the bookshelves off to the side would tie in the desk. You have a lot of cool colors with the desk leaning warm. So just a little pop of warm tones here and there would tie it together. Looks really nice. Oh and I painted my entire house agreeable gray. Nice calm color. Looks tan sometimes and gray other times depending on the light. EDIT: A plant would work on the shelves also.

It’s too funny, I too just did an office in the room that has been my sons bedroom for the last 25 years. He moved to the basement. I had so many holes on the wall to putty. My room became a tv/ office / reading room for me. I love it my husband took off the closet doors and built me a custom desk. Love the colour of your room.

Wow! Your room looks awesome! I love the blue/gray paint. It would be cool if you have a cricket machine and made a huge frugal fit signage either over the window or above your bike. With cool cursive lettering of course. Even if you use your husband's idea and put headquarters with it would be great! I'd patent that name if I were you. Just mail a letter to yourself saying you own that name until you get an actual patent. I am just full of ideas for you! You have inspired me to do something similar with my extra room. Speaking of furniture supply chain issues… My parents are still waiting on furniture they ordered from Macy’s back in April 2020. They got 90% of it a year later, but then the delivery guys broke all but 1 piece of it while bringing it in. Macys had to send over an investigator & ruled in my parents’ favor. So then Macy’s had to start a new order to replace the broken pieces because they were too broken to fix. They JUST got notice that the final 10% of the original delivery should be arriving within the next 2 months. Still no word on the replacement pieces. Meanwhile… they’ve made all the payments for the furniture set via their credit card & still don’t have a bed to sleep on!!!

I agree on Agreeable Gray. I've used it in my family room, entry, hall and living room. It looks so different depending on the lighting, windows and daylight and trim. It's beautiful! Congrats on your FFM Headquarters!!!

I work as an Office Manager for a construction company, I can honestly say it’s not just furniture. Any kind of materials has become hard to get as well. Pipe, concrete, asphalt, and even regular building materials are becoming harder to get. Your office looks beautiful! I just got a house myself, and the master bedroom has a retreat that I’m turning into my own home office. Agreeable gray is literally the color of my mothers whole house. 😂

Last year we decided we wanted a new couch set and kitchen table set.... So we ordered what we wanted in the spring, were given a 4 week estimate. About 3 weeks in we sold the sets we had in use, because what's one more week? We were then informed a few days before it was supposed to arrive, that it was delayed... We didn't get our couch set until September. That was a LONG "4 weeks" without a couch or table, with a 2 year old.

My son and daughter-in-law are ordering their furniture ahead of their finish house build in FL because of the delays. Their house should be done in May but they’ll have their brand new furniture ready. They’ve got them in boxes in a 1300 sft townhome they are renting interim. Every time I go over there it’s like a game of Tetris lol!

I invested in real canvas dropclothes. Because paint doesn't dry well on that plastic film, it bunches up, and paint gets on you from drips. I also would have painted before the carpet. As for the color, it is nice. Good call. I'm not a fan of carpet at all, but southeast Texas has a much warmer climate than Idaho.

I love the blue accent wall. In fact so much so that I was going to suggest painting the big wall blue and then move the bookcases to that wall and switch the desk. That way you could film at the desk and not have to deal with the reflection from the window. But then BANG POW you hung up the bike. Awesome.

Sherman Williams paint at the SW store is way higher quality than what they carry at Lowes. We found that out the hard way. Its like when you buy a John Deere mower from any farm store...its not the same. It's like the junk version.

The desk is nice, but doesn't go with the rest of the room. You should paint it! Use the same paint you used on the walls. Maybe the dark on the top and the Agreeable Gray on the bottom (or vise versa). That would look so cool!

oooooh, I love that accent color! If I were you, I would put up a straight, minimalist valance type window topper. Maybe just a solid block of color or perhaps a gray on white pattern? None of the floral pleated monstrosities of my childhood kitchen. lol Personally, I feel like there is a lot going on up top with both the bookshelves and the window having similar large moulding a foot apart. They kinda compete with each other. But that's just me! Great make-over!
