Very good stuff and if you ever have another episode with the goldfish....(God forbid) it could be very helpful. Jenny I also want to mention that I have used a thing called ionized silver water that is safe for fish but deadly to bad bacteria. I had a few koi years ago that were carrying tuberculosis and I cured them by soaking the food in silver water. I have also cleared up several nasty infection episodes since. Google it and check it out. I will give you a heads up that drug companies do not like it because it is relatively cheap and they do not make any profit but reality proves otherwise. It also works on human cuts and scrapes to help heal faster. Some hospitals use it as eye drops and wound dressing.

I bought this when I first started watching your videos and you mentioned this stuff, I was a new hobbyist and had a big fish in a small tank. Polyfilter really helped me keep my tiny 1.5 gallon aquarium under control while I saved enough money to buy a suitable aquarium for my new fish and let it cycle. She's now my biggest fish in my collection, I doubt she would have survived if it wasn't for your suggestion! ❤

I don't even have a fish tank but your videos are always so interesting I end up clicking through to another one and another one and another one.... if nothing else I learn a lot for when I do want a tank of my own! I'm in a work training program right now & the building has the most beautiful coral reef tanks I've ever seen with living corals, some brittle stars (I think?), baby sea stars, clownfish, anemones, other coral-based animals (I don't remember what they're called), and loads of other fish that I don't know the names of ... when I feel like my brain is going to explode from cramming all the info in during class, I go to the tank & just watch everyone for 10 or 15 minutes & I feel much better & like I've been able to fit the info in to the right places in my brain. Thanks for yet another great video!

I've just ordered some off ebay because of this video :-) I only have my axolotl (Mavis) at the moment, but I take great care of her because she is absolutely precious, so anything that will help me take even greater care I will act on straight away! Am waiting on someone deciding whether they 'can be bothered' with their little betta fish, or whether she is going to give him to me... Am praying it's the latter if that's how she feels about him :( My last betta lived till he was almost 6. I loved him dearly too! I have other animals here, non aquatic ones though, 58 altogether, permanent/non-releasable/and terminally ill rescue animals. Thank you for taking the time to make such straight forward, non-fussy and honest videos. You are so kind and caring to your fish!

This is great info. First time I hear of this. One thing that comes to mind is that this would be a great thing to have on hand so you can just pop it into your tank(s) in case you need to leave for a trip and no one can do water changes for you (easier to instruct you neighbors how to put some food in the tank than how to do water changes, right?). Yep. This sounds like a great thing and I'm getting some. Thanks!!!!

I have a cycled 5 year old aquarium that isn't doing to well since we moved, the shrimp, fish and plants aren't doing to well, especially the shrimp. But all the other cycled tanks seem to be doing okay. Definitely going to use polyfiliter to try and figure out what's going on because the pH, hardness, and nitrite etc are fine.

Poly-Filter is unsurpassed in its applications and effects. It's price and lackluster marketing keeps it as a silent and largely ignored goldmine in plain sight. Considering it's been in use since the 70's, and yet, most hobbyists immediately gravitate toward carbon as their preferred chemical media. After visiting various LFS, I see PF always hanging on displays, yet I've never once witnessed a customer inquiring or purchasing it. I love it dearly.

After watching this video I purchased some poly-filter to try this out in my 20 gallon. I have cholla wood as part of my tank set up and it releases a lot of tannins.... a little to much. After putting the poly-filter in the tank and leaving it over night it was l like day and night. The water turned from a transparent brown yellow color to completely clear. I think I will also use poly-filter to set up my 55 gallon which I am going to use to house and breed. F. Gardneri.....and maybe some shrimp....or maybe panther crabs. I haven't decided yet. Anyway I do want to thank you for your advice and your insight. You and a few other channels I have been following has really helped along with my fish keeping skills. Thank you for all you do! Thank you a million times over!! If I hadn't seen this video a year ago and added poly-filter to my fish order (from you) I wouldn't have had it on hand this past week. I had a die-off. Very scary. I had been doing normal water change quantities, treating buckets with prime and letting it "air out" because I'm on a city water system. Then fish died, including the oldest 7 of my beloved Otocinclus. Poor Gramma was a full 2" Oto. :'( She's the one who bred in captivity with you. The tank had a little ammonia so I did another change. More died. Finally I tested my tap water and it had ammonia and high chlorine. The public works director swears they only add free chlorine (gas) and not chloromine, but how could I get ammonia in my tap water?? Thanks to emergency poly filter added to the pump style filter the tanks are now safe, all my fish are doing OK, and I'm researching water filtration for the whole house that won't kill my teacher's income budget. THANK YOU!!!

Hi Rachel. Thanks for posting these great videos. I have a Fluval HOB filter in my 40 gallon planted aquarium. Can I use the poly filter in place of my carbon bag? Is it possible to use too much poly filter in an aquarium? My thought was to cut it to the same dimensions as the sponge in the filter. I hope this makes sense. I would like to do away with carbon in my aquarium. I also infuse CO2 for my plants in case that is a factor you need to know. Thanks.
