Thanks for this video...just wanted to add a suggestion for age spots and self tanner...eyebrow wax pen...elf has one very inexpensive, go over each spot before applying the tanner to minimize the darkening. I used to actually paint on white out to all spots, and while it worked ok...this solution works just as well invisibly!

desert dweller hi do u get the clear stay and shape? I looked it up and they have a tinted one as well. What does it do? Do you put that on before self tanner? I have a few freckles and a couple age spots (I’m a red head) they always turn such an odd brown orange color. Thanks for tip

Is this just a old fashioned typed eyebrow pencil? Right. When i use self tanners brown spots turn up where i never knew i had them before. Then i have to put concealer on them.

@@angelalail9292 Hi Angela, yes that's the one I get! I just use it first, I go over the spot, freckle, or anything that I don't want to get darker well with the wax...I also use the same tanner Angie uses. Hope this helps!

2% BHA (salicylic acid) works to remove self tanner mistakes - or on dark skin spots. Paula's Choice makes many formula versions. BHA also works on keratosis pilaris, bikini red spots, acne spots, and any calloused or rough skin - feet, elbows, knees.

You did address my biggest issue with self tanner on my face as I have a couple spots of hyperpigmentation on my left cheek and it does get darker with self tanner and then harder to conceal with foundation and concealer. I had not thought about removing the ST with a q-tip - good idea. I just decided to give my face a tan look with bronzer. Good video.

I love self-tanners! I like the Jergens in-shower tanner too and often alternate between the glow lotion. I too have a tip for self-tanning over dark spots--I just take a q-tip with moisturizer and dab the spots and give it a minute to dry before applying self-tanners. I think it helps the spots from darkening.

Tracey, just a suggestion, there are tanning towels that seem to make this self tanning chore easier. and a sure lot less messier. they are so convenient, not messy, and not as much of a scent to them. there are a few good brands that make these individually wrapped tanning cloths. just makes it easier and less time consuming. I like that one as well except I use the one sold especially for the face on arms and legs , and never "tan" my face. What she said about exfoliating-- I still think my facial skin would look uneven because of the constant exfoliating if I also attempted to tan it. Also, there are way too many layers going on for me to feel like the skin care can be effective if I add something else.

Glad to hear your take on self tanners Angie.....I’m a lot older than you and grew up in the generation of baking in the sun and sun reflectors....I’m often told I look about 15-20 years younger than I am so I’m thrilled about that.........My skin is pretty good considering, although I do have some age spots on my face I can cover those and I never use self tanner on my face........I use a BB cream for light wear and It CC cream for full coverage winter and summer. And of course sunscreen.........as far as the body goes there are just too many spots to count ......I used to use St Tropez and afew other products but I didn’t feel like I had enough control over them..........but like you I really like the Jerkins......it never goes on too dark and because it’s a cream it moisturizers too.....I also use the Body Shop Shea Butter.....and about every 10 days I have a spray tan on my back as I do pool aerobics and I like my back to be lightly tanned too

You don't have to worry too much about retinol, Kristen. It's so weak, useless really, and mixed in with whatever cosmetics you're using, probably dilutes it even more.

I’ve just started using the Coola. I really like the texture. As a first step in the morning I use The Truth C serum. I tried mixing the two together & that actually works really well. I wasn’t getting as much of that Sunkist glow applying it after serums. So applying it this way is working perfectly.

I love the Coola gradual tan face serum and dry oil spray for body. Last year was the first time I self tanned more than 1-2 times a year. I’m very fair and tend to burn more than tan in the sun. I’ve actually gotten a tan 3 times in 43 years. Sun poisoning is a different story, even when wearing and reapplying SPF 60+. I don’t like the full on, unnatural looking fake bake and prefer a hint of gradual color, which makes a big difference on me. I keep it simple. I use the Alpha Skin Care Renewal (Glycolic) Body Lotion fairly regularly a couple weeks before I start tanning and the Hemps Glycolic body exfoliating scrub in the shower before I apply self tanner. I use nothing but the Coola serum topped with a simple moisturizer and eye cream before bed. I sometimes apply a light layer of moisturizer over my entire body and give it awhile to soak in good, or just in some areas before I use the gradual tanning body oil spray. I rub it in good with a tanning mitt, let it dry and can tell a difference in the morning. I will use it for 2-3 days in a row, give it a few days to wear down and then repeat or do it every other night for a few days.

I am pretty experienced with self tanning my face and a good tip for avoiding dark spots, pimples or scars getting darker is to put your self tanner on last after you moisturize, wait a couple minutes and then put a thick dot of your facial moisturizer over top of any marks you dont want to absorb as much of the tanner. This works everytime for me!

Thank you for all your wonderful video's. You've really helped me in SO many ways. I love the products you use & I buy a lot of them! I'm HOPING you can add Info for the aging droopy eyelid problem, as even the best eye shadows I purchase at various places, like Sephora & other high $$ places, the shadows are too dry for my lids & makes any wrinkles magnify. I was hoping you have a video for creams instead?! Perhaps they will not get flakey & that caked on look. Great video Angie. I've never used self tanner on my face, so good pointers there. I haven't used self tanner in several years but I used to use it religiously. I just go pale and I am afraid it will stain my very light hair that's much longer than my pic. That's the one thing I don't like about self tanner is that it stains white clothes. By the way, I love all your deep v-neck tops. V-necks are so much more flattering to any body type I think.

I usually mix my moisturizer with my self tanner....it just helps with the blending in as I’m pretty fair and it can be odd if i separate the two sometimes...it helps with the graduating of the tan showing up....works for me....

No unpleasant scent or orange tint. Also loving the Elta MD tinted sunscreen. Carla Leal ....No. I put the Jergens sunscreen on every other morning, let it dry and get dressed. I've never had it comemoff on sheets. I don't apply it before bed. I do apply it very lightly on toes or protruding ankle bones that tend to darken more than your legs. Hope this helps. Hugs.... Sherry

Renee CA If you can find a great spray tan person that you can use for special events and before vacations, that is the best way to go! I do my own self tan semi-regularly, but for events where it would be really unfortunate to have streaks or missed spots or orange hands etc 😬 a live person doing your spray tan can’t be beat! (I see you’re in California; if you happen to live in the East Bay I can recommend someone really great!)

Have you guys ever tried the Dove summer revival? i really like this one, i can't get Jergens where I live so i think this is a good alternative.

I ‘be used the Q-tip method for years...I just moisten it, no halo’s ever. I also use a chapstick on all my cuticles, knuckles, knees and elbows before I apply the self tanner! I never get darker areas this way.
