You picked a good one! Fantastic Plane.

oh one thing you might want to talk about is the spin of each motor i had flip 2 wires on 1 of the esc so i have my props both spinning inword or outword how ever you want to look at it, so you cancel the motor tork
@GroundControlRC Жыл бұрын
Yes, I've had to do that frequently, even with single tractor and pusher motors.

nice plane . I use a matek PD board to power my Byme -A and D
@GroundControlRC Жыл бұрын
Thank You! It's definitely a Keeper ;-) Those PD Boards do come in very handy especially if you have many component in which to provide power. See you in the Air!

Geeee......I find you again, with the Penguin !!!! I hope this is going to be a cost effective subscription 🤣🤣
@GroundControlRC Жыл бұрын
Hum....fairly cost effective if you pass on purchasing 90% of the ones I recommend ;-) I'm in the process of culling the fleet to just the planes I like flying the best. They're the ones I refer to as "Keepers". This one is definitely a Keeper ;-)

I’m going to have to get one of these for sure

Awesome plane with everything stock! I do like that no MODS are needed ;-) See you in the Air!

So im guessing it's pretty much essential to cut that foam spar out that's in the battery bay? Is it not there for structural reasons?
@GroundControlRC10 ай бұрын
Hi Alex! Yes, unless you have a LIPO that's quite a bit shorter than mine you'll have to remove that foam to get the battery installed. It's a very odd section of foam so I'm not sure if that's structural or should have been removed. The foam is that area of the canopy is pretty thick so it's not needed but that area is usually the weak area on most planes. I typically add some carbon reinforcement along the sides of the fuselage in those areas when needed. I don't think this one needs it.

@@GroundControlRC brilliant thanks for that info. Do you also happen to know what the two longer black screws are for? I can't seem to find a use for them.

@@Alex_Crosby You are most welcome! It's been so long since I put this together I can't remember the hardware for the assembly. I always seem to end up with spare parts ;-)

Looks a treat. Great review notes. Shipped from US, Pass! Beauty GCRC.

Thank You Jono! Hopefully you'll be able to source this locally soon. One of the very few factory planes I've flow that requires NO MODs!

i just got the penguin and i have set it up using the flysky FS-i6(upgraded to 10ch) and using the Flysky FS-IA6 receiver and put the 2nd esc on ch 6 so i can do left and right thrust,and it works fine, i want to add a gyro , i bought the radiolink Byme-A and bought the flysky FS-A8S so i can s-bus with the gyro how would i setup the left and right thrust using that gear, or do i need to go with different RX and gyro? thanks pete your videos must helpful!!
@GroundControlRC Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you pulled the trigger on the Penguin. Awesome flying plane with tons of power ;-) Yep, most of these Gyros only have (4) channels so it make it impossible for things like flaps, retracts, independent ailerons, and throttle on different channels. They do make receivers that output pwm and sbus at the same time so you could bypass the gyro for specific things. I've never used that type of setup but that's what I would test.

Better than the Zeta Blaze ??? Subbed.
@GroundControlRC Жыл бұрын
Since my Blaze has an EDF Unit in it I'd say yes it's better. If I had a pusher motor and prop on my Blaze......that would be a tough one to decide ;-)
@davidwatkin1484 Жыл бұрын
@@GroundControlRC Thanks. I found your Zeta Blaze video with build tips, which stimulated me to get mine out of storage. It was originally intended to have twin 50mm edfs, because..... if it looks like a jet, it shouldn't have props, however....I then found a Chinese pilot who put twin 5" props on the back, (2207 1800kv). which had blistering performance and that's what I'm doing. Thanks again
@GroundControlRC Жыл бұрын
@@davidwatkin1484 That is going to be fun with twin pushers. I haven't decide on my Astro yet, whether to put a single or twin pushers in it but it's not going to be an EDF ;-) See you in the Air!
@davidwatkin1484 Жыл бұрын
I set the twin pushers with upthrust, hoping that I could reduce the recommended up elevon throw. Maiden launch was a bit ugly, so you were right, you need about 8mm up elevator. The performance is impressive. Thanks for your vid, was very helpful.
@GroundControlRC Жыл бұрын
@@davidwatkin1484 This is one of my all time favorite factory planes. That power is fantastic. Good luck on your next Test flight. I have just 1mm of positive reflex on my elevator and that seemed to work a charm with the CG neutral at the specified location.
