Also...it originated in France and then made it's way to Britain. There are no Irish origins for Shepherds pie. This and Cottage pie are a favored dish round my house and family. Wife does an amazing job .

I made this just a couple of weeks ago. Inwas told that if it's made with hamburger/beef, it's called cottage pie. It doesn't matter to me, i just know it's GOOD!

Shepherd's pie is my #1 favorite meal ever! We do it super simple with hamburger meat, mashed taters and Velveeta on top. Gotta burn that cheese too! Looks good and good eats ya'll!!

Don't call it shepherds pie, if it's not. It REQUIRES lamb.....hence SHEPHERD. You are making a version of FARMERS pie. You may want to appear as a hillbilly, but we know you're not.
