What an adventure I had running the Lisbon Marathon! I'm so excited to share the full story with you all. This was one of the most beautiful marathons I've run, but it certainly didn't go as planned.
After a late notice change to the start time, I had a restless night worrying about logistics. I rushed through my morning routine and got to the start line flustered. My bad luck continued as I got stuck waiting in the bathroom line and missed crossing the start with the 3:30 pacer group.
I had to laugh as I found myself starting this race completely alone. But I chose to have fun and make the most of it. I set my sights on hunting down that 3:30 group!
Let me tell you about the gorgeous seaside route that winds from Cascais to Lisbon. I got to take in the sunrise views and scenery despite the early start. The race support was fantastic with live music, enthusiastic crowds, and plenty of aid stations.
I'll reveal how I felt mentally and physically as the miles ticked by in the heat. I had some great conversations with fellow runners that kept my spirits up. While I faced some challenges, I found a way to draw positivity from the experience.
I'm really proud of how I persevered when plans changed and things got tough. I can't wait to share more details from my Lisbon Marathon journey soon. Be sure to subscribe so you don't miss the next video where I reveal how I finished this race to remember!
