What’s up KZbinrs!! After a two year journey, I found my perfect SIG Sauer full size 9mm. The new P226 X5 Legion Comp model with the AX3 modular trigger is by far this best SIG on the market. Every time I see this I drool over this gun. I ran a OG P226 for duty purposes for years and recently switched to a Staccato XC. Even though it’s a higher end gun with some bells and whistles I miss my 226. THIS may be what I need to get to feel that familiarity with some of those bells and whistles upgrades I’ve been looking for. Appreciate the review and always appreciate seeing your content.

I own both and Yes, you’re absolutely right. Staccato is a wonderful pistol but only a Pro will feel and understand the difference in shooting both pistols.

That’s a nice group in center mass down range. I have two legions; the P238 and the P229 and I haven’t bought another because they don’t make a 45 or a 10mm that isn’t rounds-limited in the legion format. And I’m too old school to really enjoy striker fired pistols so the P226rx “was” the direction I was going but my god, this is an absolute beauty. Twenty rounds, smooth trigger, compensator, etc…I’m sold. Great gun, great shooting, and great video sir!

That is a great gun. I got one a few months ago. It shoots awesome. I love the gas pedal and the trigger. Comp works great. It shoots like a tac driver. You shot the hell out of that.

@@teamblacksmithllc NP. I actually love Sig's. I agree on the Alien being right after 2011's. After that it is my Sig's. The other one I could see you liking is the P320 X-Five DH3. It is new as well. It is a nice shooter. The P226 X5 Legion Comp is the better one, but the P320 X-Five DH3 is no slouch.

Outstanding report and commentary. Love your channel sir. Your candor is always refreshing and appreciated. I also have a P365 X Macro. I don't love its stock trigger so I upgraded with M Carbo to minimize some of the creep. That helped and I shoot it well despite it still not being super crisp. I’ll be picking my 226x5 legion up in a few weeks once it is added on to the Maryland handgun roster. Been waiting since October. I also have the 226x5, so it will be fun to compare. I agree with you about the quality of the triggers in the 226x5s, but I think the best non 2011 triggers come in the SAO CZ pistols like the TS2 or Czechmate. Mine break about 1.75 pounds and give my 2011s some strong competition! Recently found your channel and love your content (and guns). New subscriber.

Nice looking, gun, I always love Sig and currently own a p226 extreme, but $2200 for this without optics seems a bit extreme. It was bad enough that I paid $1200 for mine.

Hey Jordan. Thank you. Appreciate it. In comparison, this shot just as accurately as my 2011 comped guns. Just a slight more recoil but the trigger pull, action, and ergonomics is on par with them. It did take me a moment to figure out my grip but once I figured it out. I was extremely satisfied. SIG has finally won me over with this P226. Thanks for watching.

I agree. Doesn’t make sense for SIG to have an optic plate with rear sights. I like the direct mount option but extra cost for rear irons for the Delta Point Pro. Thanks for watching.

Chase!! For me, the P226 had better ergonomics similar to the 2011 platforms that works best for me based on my grip. I primarily shot 2011s and the other SIGs I had didn’t work for me. The P320 has a same grip profile as the P226 so I believe getting the P320 AXG Legion would be the best choice. Thanks for watching.

Hey Logan. My gun choices are always based on potential competition and tactical advantages. I chose the X5 legion because I’m a big fan of comp guns too. Also, the ergonomics of the X5 comes close to a 2011 which I prefer. The ZEV platform looks great especially with the threaded barrel. Looks perfect for a tactical gun. It all comes down your purpose for either one. They both check off a lot of boxes but I must admit the ZEV does one up the X5 with the threaded barrel. I tried many SIG models but only the P226 X5 Legion is the only one that works for me. I hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Yes, you are right. Although X5 is very accurate and performs good. The XC is on another level compared to the X5.

I saw a video of a guy shooting this in competitions. He said after 20 yards distance the accuracy drops off. Have you experienced that at all?

Hey James. I haven’t had the opportunity yet to shoot it in a competition. At the indoor range, I zeroed my red dot for 20yds and it was accurate from that distance. I’m not sure if the outdoor range or competition would affect the accuracy.

Hey John!! The XC overall performance is smoother than the P226 but the accuracy between the two are equal. I am able to hit consistent a-zone shots with both out to 15 yards. This P226 is the perfect blend of the 2011 features and not losing any of the features that make a SIG a SIG. Thanks for watching!!

@@darkdre7 after looking at them both I would consider the P365 because of the ergonomics would fit my grip style better. That is just a personal preference for me because I am use to shooting 2011s. Ultimately you can’t go wrong with any comp gun. Whatever one you decide to get will be the right one for you. Just consider what you will be using it for.

Dre!! Good morning!! In my opinion it’s more for competition use because of the comp and adjustable trigger. The non-comp model would be more geared towards duty. Thats the great feature of this P226 comp model is the adjustable trigger. If you want to use it for duty, you can adjust the trigger to a heavier pull to make it perfect for duty use. I didn’t pick the P320 AXG legion because of the ergonomics. The P226 ergonomics comes close to more of a 2011 type style grip for me.

Nice weapon, but that weapons light is way too big for a gun that is way too big for conceal ability. And not to mention way,way overpriced! Get a canik TP 9 elite SC for a lot less recoil, and price.

@@teamblacksmithllc a few years back I bought a sign p365 45 cal and while shooting it at the range the recoil sprig came out of the front of my gun. I was pissed because this was my first time shooting it. I returned it and found out that the flat wire springs can lean to an angle and possibly come out. I would have been dead in a firefight.
