You and I have similar fragrance tastes. I found your channel when you started posting about fragrances and I couldn’t be happier! Three discoveries of mine that I think you might love are: -Encens Suave by Matière Première - incense that is cozy, resinous that has sticky benzoin that is slightly gourmand from a hint of coffee and vanilla -The Blazing Mr. Sam by Penhaligon’s: give this one a minute on your skin, I didn’t love it at first. Then, magic happened. The spices from the cardamom, and the warmth and booziness from the tobacco just melds so so well together! If you love minuet et Demi and kilian’s intoxicated this is magic. -Love and Crime by Ex Idolo: do I even need to say anything? The best pastry, orange-chocolate-vanilla gourmand. Period. It’s incredible

It’s so impressive that you really know who you are and the perfect fragrances for you at such a young age. You have very interesting tastes. It’s so refreshing to see someone not talking about the fruity floral perfumes like so many reviewers do. I can’t stand them and It is definitely more difficult to find perfumes these days that aren’t fruity floral. Maybe I need to re-visit Maison Margiella. And I definitely want to try Santal Vanille! Wow, I've finally found a woman who likes wearing Herod with as much enthusiasm and conviction as I do. It's just gorgeous. I also love Prolixe by Histoire de Parfum, Red Tobacco by Mancera and All the Queens Men by Fort & Manle-- too bad the performance with F & M fragrances is so bad. For the pricepoint I just can't justify a full bottle purchase which is a grand shame as I'd love to just clean sweep the entire range. They're all fantastic (if you like tobacco, sweet spicy fragrances that is). My favourite "masculine leaning" amber-forward fragrance is Rania J's 'Ambre Loup'. It's...I have no words. 😍

Girl, you are just the cutest! One of these companies needs to hire you! I wish I could smell all of these. All we have in our town is a small Sephora in Kohl’s and a small Ulta. They don’t have any of these perfumes 😕. I can’t afford to blind buy anything - though it’s tempting. My current favorite is Gucci Flora Gorgeous Gardenia - it’s ME!

Okay okay okay, you’ve convinced me I have to get my nose on Herod! Santal vanille is also on my list to try next time I make it to a Sephora. I find my taste overlaps with yours a lot in that you have great taste and I pretty much always enjoy your recommendations, but I do have a love for what are currently perceived as “feminine scents” so I think some of my favorites would not appeal to you (plus some of my favorite notes are your most hated 😆). I love how we can all have different preferences in fragrance yet still come together to share this hobby (or obsession, if you’re me!)

I’d just say that unisex is more “me in a bottle” but I adore my feminine scents for when I want to pull that mood! Hence why I have such a collection, I “need” something for different occasions, settings, temperatures, etc. 🤪 And it’s an obsession for me as well, a lifestyle really 😉😄

@@AnneLauren So I hadn't given a ton of thought to differentiate "me in a bottle" vs "fragrances I love" but I came up with four to represent different sides of me. One I'm not sure you've tried/what you think is Orchidee Vanille- to me, this represents my maternal side. It is soft, warm, comforting, and rounded, and is how I want to smell when I snuggle my son in front of a fire, drinking hot chocolate after playing in the snow. One I don't know if you've tried but doubt you would like is Girl of Now Forever- this is my summertime fun, flirty, sweet, playful side- I know it is definitely not for everyone, but I don't need everyone to love me or my fragrance! Then I would say Mon Guerlain is professional me in a bottle. As a counselor I want to be warm and comforting, yet still have a sense of sophistication and seriousness (while being mass appealing). Lastly, La Belle Le Parfum is "sexy" me- kind of intoxicating without being overdone, a touch of fruit and vanilla, and deep yet intimate (at least on my skin) and something I know my husband enjoys (he is not into fragrance and VERY picky). If you haven't tried Orchidee Vanille or GON Forever but want to, let me know and I can send you decants =)

@@AnneLauren absolutely worth a try! I almost skipped over Rose Prick because I thought I didn’t need another boring rose chypre but this is quite different! Not mature leaning in any way, but the pepper and turmeric give it a completely different vibe to me. One of the most unisex roses I’ve tried. Honestly it threw me because I thought it would be all rose but it’s so well blended and the dry down is woody, almost ambery due to the spice mix. Hope this helps.

@@AnneLauren By Rosie Jane is sold at Sephora and Lake & Skye can be found at Ulta! They both offer discovery boxes with samples of their sets (though Lake & Skye’s newest, fifth scent Midnight 07 isn’t apart of their sample box yet), if you did want to check them out! There’s not many clean/cruelty free fragrance houses out there that are easily accessible and won’t break the bank, so these come up a lot! Same with Pinrose as well! Again, I’d just love to hear your thoughts on any of them ☺️

Replica does fragrances right. I go hard for jazz club, as well. When I don't want to smell girly, jazz club is one of many that I go to. I love whispers in the library, as well. Amazing scent! I wanted something more feminine, bc i gravitate like you most toward unisex even masculine leaning, woodsy, smokey stuff- so i wanted something to express my feminine side, and i wanted a hint of citrus to uplift me in the winter, wanted a hint of coconut as well to remind me of summer, something a bit sparkly or bubbly🥂, and i wanted white floral sophistication specifically a creamy gardenia- this is actually orange blossom/jasmine, but still creamy white florals. Very sexy. I dont find it too strong/long lasting. But most important to me is the scent itself & i love the packaging as well. Im willing to bet you’d love 😘🤷‍♀️ new sub! ✌️ hope you check out the house of Kerosene & their scent Unforsaken, id be curious your take on them 😉🌸❄️☃️🍊🥥 ps. I wanted & think its a good year-round scent bc in a way its very summery, but there is also vanilla, and tonka, so it does warm up on the dry down & i find it uplifting for the winter, the white florals remind me of snow & the citrus like sunlight sparkling off of it🌨❄️✨🍊🍋🥥 or of holiday champagne with a twist of lemon 🥂🍋 anyway! We definitely have similar tastes. I’d say The Embrace or Soir Exclusif are ME in a bottle. I must say, I adore a very wide range of perfumes. I love super stupid sickly sweet, I love fresh/citrus/aquatic, I love a lot of unisex fragrances, etc. I have found I don’t love overly animalic frags. I’ve experienced the cat pee from civet 🤢🤮 in perfume. I’ve experienced barn yard doo doo 💩 from some oud 🤢🤮. I blind buy a lot based on notes and reviews. I’m rarely disappointed. I have to watch for notes like civet or castoreum. If I see those, I must sample first no matter what the other notes might be. I have to do my research with oud dominant frags. Fragrantica & KZbin are very helpful. Love your videos. I enjoy your personality and appreciate that we have a similar vibe. 😊💕

Have you tried Queens and Monsters by Henry Rose or Cote du Paradis by Lake and Skye (sadly,not long lasting on me)? Both are nice if you like sandalwood, IMO. The Queens and Monsters is richer - makes me feel like it has a tobacco note. Cote du Paradis is woody and a little sweet without being cloying at all - just not very long lasting. Both are really nice, IMO. Just thought I’d share.

Omg, that’s so funny, I have never heard people talk about FDB Minuit as a Starbucks chai drink. That’s totally wack. There is no chai in there. I own it and love it but don’t wear too often., to me it’s a more of a winter/ special occasion frag. I am discovering that you and I have very similar dislikes in terms of frag notes- neroli, orange blossom, honey 🤢…That is very helpful. Although, VP poets of Berlin does not read to me as a gourmand at all, I even smell a bit of cigarette smoke in the back. Not enough to be off putting ( not a smoker), but just enough to give it that je ne sais quoi. And i DEF do not smell blueberry in it. Interesting. I never even looked up the notes, but hearing you say that, I will have to pay attention next time I wear it. Also, Byredo Gypsy Water to me is not a vanilla scent at all- it’s a fresh woody frag. And way too light and disappears off my skin like within 1/2 hour. Bal d’Afrique- strangely it does not read to me as a citrus scent. It’s a sweet floral, fruity kind of thing and I get some vétiver, and that’s basically it. It’s fascinating to me that we may love same frags but perceive them rather differently.
