Karrah Dedominick --💜 I am attempting to dispel some deep ignorance, and ABLEISM, here. 🥄🥄🥄🥄 Having EDS is like being Goldie Hawn, in Death Becomes Her! You LOOK Great, then your body parts start disconnecting. This woman was hurt, embarrassed, and terrified for her future and present security, being Ambushed with "find somewhere to Go", when she thought she was there to get Real Help from a specialist! The shock and surprise was obviously because she was not honest about the topics discussion. I was fine when I was younger. (I GOT RUN OVER BY A TRUCK, AND WALKED IT OFF! That is how pain hardy I was, they didn't see great pain, so they didn't X-ray, sent me home w/ broken jaw and spine). 🚶🏽♀️🚚🤕. EDS was compared by a Cancer Pain specialist, as being 7 Times more painful than what many Cancer patients experience. And it is without Treatment or Cure. But, It gets worse. I wish I could work, like before. I loved hiking, backpacking, rollerblading, and worked multiple jobs! Now, I can't always get up to make soup. I can't do dishes without passing out from TOS, or POTS. My eds loose vertebrae slide, and I'm down, and useless. I do not want to be a veggie. 😥. My body is falling apart, and I am 20 years younger than this woman! Try not to judge. Especially based on an edited piece by this slimeball, who gets his jollies from attacking the suffering. We Zebras know what it is like to not be believed, and the struggle for diagnosis, in a sea of EDS-ignorant doctors. We can't quantify her pain based on looking at her, as no one could with me. My fingers/hands are dislocating from a few comments as is. No internet job for me! Voice to text doesn't understand dislocating jaws, either. 😥

@@010101Be I deeply feel for you and what you are going through, I have Fibromyalgia and ME, and the pain I deal with is enough, so I can't begin to imagine what you go through. I would say though that the one difference I can already see between you and this woman is that, even from your one comment, you seem like a determined and positive minded person. I am not saying you don't get extreme down times, but it sounds like, even though you are limited to what you can do, that you fight for the bits of life you can still be independent in. I'm not saying this woman doesn't have EDS, but I do think she has very bad depression, and that is what needs to be dealt with first, she won't be able to move forward until she can be positive about a way forward. I think even if her daughter could see 10% of positivity or determination from her mother then things would be easier for her. Sadly I find that if you too easily want to give up on yourself, then you can't expect others to happily pick all the slack, or they will get to the point of giving up on you too. I do wish you luck in the future and hope you can be happy and positive with where life takes you xx

It seems like depression. I noticed it even before her other daughter said it. She should be in therapy : then later she and the therapist can decide jobs she can do e.g call centre worker - a job in which she doesn't need to walk around. She needs help through a progressive plan that will be sustainable: e.g therapy to help with her depression or whatever mental health issue(s) she has, help in searching for and getting a suitable place to live and assistance in getting a suitable job. If she actually does have a physical disability, then her family should assist her in getting a diagnosis and then file for her to collect disability from the government. I believe family should help each other but not at another family member's detriment. However I guess that's why they are on the show to get help for Dr Phil: even the mental healthcare that her daughters already know she needs can be too expensive for them to afford in the US.

@@010101Be i hear what youre saying, and I agree with a lot of it as I have a disability that isnt easily seen as well (periodic paralysis) but the problem is that she openly admits she isnt doing what she easily could. Shes only doing 20% of what shes capable of doing so on the off chance shes not lying shes still allowing her daughter to act as a care giver and not lift a finger to help when she openly admits that she could. If she had said "I am doing 100% of what i can do to help" it would be different. That and as they pointed out she doesnt actually have a diagnosis; just google. Theres a million other things she could have but shes latched onto this one SUPER RARE condition as her reason to give her child 20% of her effort and as her excuse to take over her childs life. (Ever hear the phrase the obvious answer is the correct one? Odds are her arthritis that she DOES have is just as bad as it can get. Sure she COULD have this super rare condition; but when youre looking into the void for a diagnosis the super rare one is the last to be concluded. The fact she isnt searching for other and more probable answers while waiting for an actual diagnosis shows where shes at. She saw one name, read about it, and decided "yup this is why my joints hurt!" When she already has arthritis..a joint condition). To put it simply imagine if at your max effort all you could do is put your dish in the sink. But instead of doing that to help your childs load as your caregiver you only place your plate down on the table. Thats where the issue comes in. Shes not interested in finding other resources. Shes not interested in getting an official diagnosis (because you dont need a specialist to get help for conditions. Maybe to get the specific diagnosis; but my condition is still officially undiagnosed [we only know its a form of periodic paralysis, unknown which kind though] and I was given multiple resources to find help and care during my episodes. Something she hasnt done as she has her daughter and was content using her daughter for all of time. On top of that theres the guilt tripping. Whenever her child said this wasnt how she wanted to live she would immediately reverse the situation to make it out as though her child was this evil person who wanted her dead. "Mom i dont like having to take on all these responsibilities and need to be able to be a 20 something. I dont want to be your caregiver forever" "youre right, im a HORRIBLE mother! I wish i could just DIE!" At first glance this sounds like a person with depression right? But thats what its SUPPOSED to sound like. This however is ACTUALLY a disproportional reaction to what was said. Its akin to girls who say "im so ugly!" Just to get people to say "no no youre soooo pretty!" When you hear "im a horrible mother i should just die!" Your instinct is to say "youre not a bad mom, i dont want you dead!" Reaffirm. Drop the original subject that made her say she should just die. Tell her how good she is! But.. what was said isnt bad. Her daughter shouldnt have to take on that responsibility- she is just grown from a child to an adult and needs to have the option to live her own life. If she WANTED to care for her mother thatd be wonderful, but she doesnt. And every time she tried to express this she was given the same "im a horrible mother and i should just die" to redirect the conversation from "we need to find a new caregiver" to "no mom its okay youre not horrible please dont say that i love you!" This is an abusive tactic i grew up with. When my mother did something awful and i tried to tell her how she was hurting me she would immediately say the same lines. And as a young girl the emotional burden was placed on me to balance my adult mother. "Mom you really hurt me earlier " "I KNOW YOU THINK IM A HORRIBLE MOTHER!" "no! What? I didnt say that (even though it was TRUE) Mom youre not horrible! Please stop saying that". It went from a productive conversation about how to avoid hurting me to me coddling her after she had punched me and thrown me down the staircase in a single sentence. Deflect reassign roles ignore the cause and press on. Im not sayin shes lying necessarily but i DO think based on what she herself said that she is overplaying how bad her condition truly is. Its messed up that she wont even consider finding a new care giver so her daughter can marry and have children of her own. Live her own life. If she does have EDS it doesnt stop her abysmal behavior towards her daughter.
