Why is the mom so prideful? So heartbreaking. What a shame. Nikki out here destroying relationships left n right. God damn I hope she forgives her father. He made a terrible mistake but at least he’s owning up to it and is genuinely regretful.

Being abandoned by your family is a pain that never really goes away. You can try to move on with you life but there will be things that take you right back to that moment (the fathers cologne). I am proud of her for standing up for herself even when she wasn't given the time to prepare herself for the confrontation. Expecting the person who was hurt to be "the bigger person" is unfair. I understand that revenge and holding on to grudges is not healthy. However, when you've hurt someone, you can't tell them how to react or respond to you. Some people have the privilege of never experiencing betrayal at such a deep level and would like to think that they would let cooler heads prevail but you never know how you will react until you are put in that position. The parents are clearly toxic and created a toxic relationship for the siblings. You can't expect them to behave and interact like normal siblings do. What Nikki did is beyond the scope of normal sibling rivalry and you have to question the parenting she received that allowed her to think that such behavior is okay because she is continuing to butt heads with the husband's sister. The fiance made his choice the moment he chose to listen to the sister over her. I can understand being overwhelmed in the moment but did he not care enough about her to hear her side of the story before deciding cut her out of her life. All of this could have been avoided if they cared enough to listen to her. They all had the chance to be the bigger person and they chose otherwise and she is well within her rights to cut them all off.

Right?! Usually in accusations as such, at least one person would offer themselves to hear the other side. But they all just chose to close her out. That’s painful

I agree with u totally,why do i have to be the bigger person, when family are those who is to have your back are the one trowing u under the bus, then i say they are not worth the empathy.... I pray she finds healing and happiness

Speak on it. It's not fair for the passive good person to constantly uphold that goodness and turn the other cheek. I mean if you're aiming for the 7th heaven, I get it. But sometimes you can choose to let karma work through you and in doing so, this girl allowed Nikkis husband to understand his own sister was not in the wrong, possibly salvaging that relationship. Can Nikki even be classed as family when her jinn is working overtime to create so much destruction and chaos? As someone who has always been told to turn the other cheek and apologise first even when not in the wrong just for the sake of encouraging peace, it can get very old and hurtful. I'm just elated her dad has seen the light and is willing to do everything he can to rectify his mistakes. Justice was served in my eyes. And i can go to sleep with a smile on my face. I despise injustice and that Nikki got what was coming for her. I hope she swallows the bitterness and wakes up to realise karma is always 1 step behind when she thinks of pulling this kind of shit in the future.

In Islam, we don't turn the other cheek (that's a Christian concept). I agree, I think the husband should have known so he and his sister can have a better relationship. I can't imagine how OP must be going through because her sister Nikki, is a monster.
