I think that little sister, at five years of age, saw how big sister got a lot of attention and was jealous so started to manipulate the situation a bit as an experiment. I have seen little children do this by crying and throwing tantrums. Usually the grandparents get sucked into it pretty easily. This is how children get spoiled and their moral character gets ruined. The adults, wanting to keep the peace or not discipline the baby, do little to nothing. However, if the child isn't called out for it and taught better, they just keep up with the manipulation and get worse as time goes on. Dad got so used to this that he never opened his eyes to the truth and his wife probably reinforced this because he was heavily favoring her bio daughter over his bio daughter.
