My SisterLock establishment took 5 days and exactly 38 hours & 38 minutes to install! And when II say exactly 38 hours and 38 minutes Iit is because we stopped and started a timer every time she was working on my hair. We excluded breaks and meals in our timings. That being said my hair was 19-20 inches long and I have VERY dense hair, which is not 4C in texture. Texture matters because certain textures is more prone to slippage and therefore requires extra steps and precautions to avoid slippage. Knowing my hair would take this long is what took me so long to commit to having SisterLocks installed. I needed to be mentally ready for this time commitment. This commitment delay was for 1 whole year! Well, that and the fact I’m tender-headed and couldn’t imagine surviving the pain. 😂 But as of Nov. 2023 I am 20 months loc’ed and loving it!!

5 days?! My goodness! Wow 38 hours is definitely intense lol I love that yall timed it exactly! Great point about how texture matters. I've heard from others the same thing - knowing how long the install can take is not attractive and holds so many back lol I'm so glad you did it though!!! The hair freedom is WORTH IT. Congrats on 20 months 🥰

Actually, it was that bad. A couple of nights I left there and took a BC powder because my head was sore. But over all it was not as bad as I had worked up in my head. I let my fears take a year off my hair freedom. 😂

@@rosecityremodel2015 OH 😭 wow that’s rough! I’m glad it wasn’t as bad as you were thinking though and it sounds like those couple days were worth the tradeoff and freedom! Fear can be so rude to us so I get it lol do your reties cause soreness too?

I understand because it took my sisterlocks 3 days. I just got my locs 08/28/2023, 12 hours the first day

My establishment took a total of 25hrs 2 people. I’m two yrs in as of September 19th.

@@kahinamatata backatcha beautiful! Thank you! My journey has been amazing! So one thing I noticed is, when I went to have my color retouched. I waited a complete year. I understand why cause my locs really swelled! I have naturally curly hair when loose. I noticed while loose that color always made my curl pattern tighter not looser like most people say. My loctician even commented on how much thicker my locs are. Your locs look like mine did when I started. They are going to flourish as they mature. I also invested 2k grand for my locs. No regrets, the level of freedom is unmatched sis! Looking forward to following your journey. And congratulations on your recent nuptials! Beautiful!

Blown out before prep? My installer said I could even comb it out.

Yup! I’m sure it made the grid/hair easier to work with blown out. And are you saying combing them out in future?
