Thanks for bravely sharing your story ❤. I had my sisterlock's est in 2016, and started self retightening at 6mth, so they're no longer considered SL's. I maintain my hair by regularly moisturizering it with my oil mix which I always include either tea tree or peppermint essential oils. Both these oils act as repellents to lice, as the don't like the scent of them. (However, it doesn't kill them if you already have an infestation). I believe that also using these essential oils in my shampoo's and conditioner's also acts a preventive method to help reduce the risks of catching them. Hope that helps someone.

Hi!! You are so welcome and you are absolutely right, the oils won’t necessarily kill them if you have them but they are great at deterring them. I was afraid to use oils in my hair at first for fear of slippage, but once school begins I think I’m going to start using oils on my scalp with the oils I mentioned in the video. Yeah, it was trying to work with it. I ended up trimming the locs at the back and it gave more of a bob look. It was a good choice.

Hi!! no, my hair has not been cut in layers. It looks that way when you are looking at me straight on, but when you look at my size, they are very thin, because I have hands in hair syndrome (HIHS).
