Don't agree at all ! I am the happy owner of a 2015 Fabia RS with only 55 000 kms and I love it so much ❤ It's very rare to see one even here in Czech Republic where I live. Replaced the original radio with brand new touch screen radio, and original rims with 17" Oxigin rims with new tires. Will place a new spoiler very soon...

The CAVE engine issues are blown out of proportion. There is about a 3rd of engines effected (and most are just smaller issues that can be fixed, only a much smaller number actually needed a new engine) but not a guaranteed new engine or fix required if you buy one. If you had the recall remap and oil change to done on the gearbox it will have no issues. I bought mine at 35k miles (11 years old now) and it had the DSG recall. Spark plugs are clean and no oil consumption issues or misfires. Runs beautifully, just needs a good rag once warmed up every now and then to keep the rings from gumming up.

@@Carsmorevlogs that is unfortunate man, like I said it can happen but it isn't a 100% guarantee you will have to result to that if you own one.

Firstly awesome videos keep up the good work, i found you on youtube because i bought i Fabia VRS about a month before you and was just looking for info but ended up watching pretty much all of your videos. Mine is 2013 i went for this because it had the new CTHE engine code rather than the CAVE code (advised to do this by the dealer) in the pre 2013 cars and all i can say it hold out for the new engine. Mine has been a peach hasn't used a drop of oil in almost 6 month now and i'm averaging 35-38 mpg mostly driving around town better on a run, with none of the DSG issues you have described either. The only issue i did have was with brake judder but the dealer replaced all the pads and disks now its fine. You hit the nail on the head with the slightly lackadaisical Skoda/VW dealers though, i had the same issue of booking appointment and waiting around for an hour plus each time. Good Look with your Fab.

Hi Thanks for sharing your experiance my car surely sounds faulty compare to what you are having,Before buying this car I saw on forums problems with the earlier models so I clearly asked the Skoda delaer before buying it if it has been affected they lied to me but the only reason I bought it was beacuase they give me warranty so Now I really hope they will replace my engine so I could really enjoy driving this car :)

Maybe late to reply this, but the cargo cover isn't loose, unless you broke the hook-attachment points. You got to click them in to place. Mine were like this too for a bit, but press it down with not too much force till it clicks in to place.

Take the handbrake off, that should improve your economy. Buy a diesel that will improve your fuel economy. Buy a more frugal fabia, you have the VRS model , it is a sports hatch!
@Nulder102 жыл бұрын
this buying a car with the vrs,gti,rs,m,amg,gr or whatever and then complain about fuel economy you should now that when you buy it aswell as parts being more exspensive compared to the basic model
@Huggy24047 жыл бұрын
Thanks for sharing your opinion, because it is just that, "your opinion". Why did you buy a VRS? Was it because it is probably the best small 5 door, 5 seat sports hatchback for your money? The VRS is a (really) quick car which out performs most cars that are available for the same price. You are buying a little pocket rocket and if it happens to use an above average amount of oil, then just make sure you keep an eye on it and top it up regularly. That's a small price to pay for this amount of performance. Your quoted fuel consumption is just crazy..... the tank holds 45 litres, around 10 gallons, so you reckon on 24mpg. Do you drive around in first gear all the time? I have owned one of these for 6 years and get 35mpg in built up areas and can get almost 50mpg on a run if I want to. I am no slouch when it comes to burying my right foot in the carpet upsetting Audi/BMW and even the occasional Porsche driver, but I can still get nearly 40mpg. The engine is a gem and the DSG box a marvellous feature. So do us all a favour and stop whinging. Why don't you just tell people about the good stuff, because there is plenty of it when it comes to driving the Fabia VRS. So to all the Skoda haters (who probably drive one of the afore mentioned vehicles) lets hope we can meet on the road sometime so that you can look up the end of my exhaust pipe as I go in to the distance....

You're talking crap... Skoda had admitted to this being an faulty engine and replaced its whole engine so if I was wrong I don't think they would spend almost 7K to replace engine :) all I was doing was sharing my experience I SHARE THE TRUTH :) thankfully now the car is doing great like it should of done at first.
@dannycampbell12945 жыл бұрын
Yesh the CAVE engine was well known for its fuel consumption and oil burning problems, not just a VRS issue as the engine was also in the Polo GTI of the time, this is why the engine was replaced with the CHTE engine (if im wrong on the code there its CTHE instead) which fixed these engine problems
@devlinlynden5 жыл бұрын
even flooring it most of the time my 2014 vRS gets substantially better mpg than what you're saying. it uses about a third of the fuel of my 2016 BMW x5 m and it uses about 1/4 of the oil. sucks for you i suppose
@Carsmorevlogs5 жыл бұрын
Yep,But thankfully now its doing great as Skoda has agreed it was faulty and replaced it with a new engine you could see it all by browsing through my channel :)

If an engine drinking oil i am sure oil rings are broken, they crack, known issue. It's issue also on some toyota/peugeot/reno motors. Fuel consumption is not normal, you have to let it checked. Skoda model sins year 2013 are updated ad don't have issues. You also should know, there is also issue whit back door seal and vent openings under back pumper, if you get water in salon. There are videos in you tube how to fix it. Again, 2013 up year cars don't have those problems.

Wow too many problems,I am dealing with it I hope Skoda will resolve my issues.

Thanks for sharing your Fabia VRS experience. I was considering one of these, despite all the well known issues - I'd have thought most of them would've been fixed by now but it seems not. I might look at the Suzuki Swift Sport instead...!
@Carsmorevlogs7 жыл бұрын
Same here I thought that they would all be fixed after these faults were knows to Skoda.....Very funny I was also thinking of a Suzuki swift sport as a second option.
@spainter19857 жыл бұрын
I think whilst not as powerful would make up for it's lack of straight line performance with it's handling, manual gearbox and solid reliability. The VRS I was considering looking at was a 2012 '62' plate model so I thought it would be ok, but perhaps not! My other concern is that since these problems become so well known it's going to hit the residual values pretty hard.
@Carsmorevlogs7 жыл бұрын
I think it already hit you will see pre 2013 are cheaper unless you have full warranty I would not advise to buy one checkout my latest video with my VRS kzbin.info/www/bejne/h4qyfmyaZ7hkb9U

The bad stories are blown up a LOT, yes there are older Fabia vRS's with faulty engines but as long as you aim for a 2013 and beyond they have a MUCH smaller chance of anything going wrong, I've had my 2013 vRS for 2 years now and I've had no issues what-so-ever, still in love with it.

Owned mine for 3 years had no issues can push 45 mpg , saying that it's a 2013 model which has a different engine code . The only issue is that I had to top oil up regularly. No gearbox issues either sounds like I got lucky

@simdoran85164 жыл бұрын
@Zooks 4 litres of oil every 800 km is severe oil consumption and with suzuki hardly any oil consumption even with high mileage ones and are up there with Toyota for reliability.

Thought i would share my experiences as i probably am the only VRS owner that has had a good experience with this car. 2012 Model CAVE Engine owned it for 3 years and sure it consumes 1l every 5000km but its not like thats big issue at the end of the day. I have not had a single thing fail on the car at all (touch wood), Currently have 50,000km on the car. In saying this i still have manufacture warranty and will probably not keep the car outside of the warranty period.

It's a skoda what do you expect. Sell it & get a golf or fiesta st.
@TheInstantclassic447 жыл бұрын
looked at a 2013 ST the finish initially seemed better than the Fab but after a long test drive i felt the seats and driving position were uncomfortable and cramped compared to the Fabia perhaps because i'm 6'4, fiesta had more toys but no 5 door option (important to me),, love DSG gearbox compared to the manual in the fiesta which wasn't great (personal preference), like for like the Fab was about 3k cheaper and performance seemed very similar to be honest, Fiesta handled better more fun on a track day i'm sure, Golf didn't even make the list as i already have larger cars (Alfa and Touareg ) and wanted a small run around much like the original poster. Saying that you could have all the same issues in a golf as they are both VAG sharing gearbox and engines. Not having a dig just think its a cracking car if you get a good one like anything.
@JGrindel7 жыл бұрын
Skoda are VW and the Polo R of the same generation has the same issue! Fiesta's are just a fiesta... lots of people have them and they depreciate fast! The Fabia VRS is rare and unique! VW cut the rights for Skoda to get a perfomance engine after the VRS was brought out as it out sold all of the other VAG group cars of its size!!
