I had tears just listening to you describe it here, it brought it back exactly how stressful this was - it was so hard watching you go through it and feeling so helpless. You did so well , I'm enormously proud of you. And Bonnie is brilliant!! 🤩

I'm glad they picked up on baby's high heart initially and jumped into action. They didnt notice until too late in my bestfriend's case with her 2nd daughter, rushed her for an emergency c section, but baby died just before entering the world, 11 days past her due date. So i appreciate hearing when they do get on to things quickly. Anyway, well done for advocating for yourself, i would have said no to a 3rd round of gel too, and good on you for knowing your limit re pushing- 2 hours of pushing is a bloody long time, i can imagine how exhausted you were. I have had 5 babies and the only similarities were that they were all vaginal, and all completely unmedicated (not always by choice) -and the same midwife, ( in nz we have the same one for pregnancy, birth & 6 weeks postnatal). ive had 2 that were longer ( 30 hours and 18 hours) and 3 much shorter ( 5 hours and 2x 1.5 hours) ive had contractions coming every 30 seconds for 2 of them, contractions spaced far apart, 2 extremely painful labours, 3 not so bad ones, 1 induction- and in my case it wasn't nearly as painful as my first 2 births- 3 posterior babies, and 2 babies with 40cm head circumference( average is about 33-35cms, so that was fun 🙄) . Anyway, what I've learnt is no matter how prepared you are, there is no way of knowing how it will go when it happens. I am glad that you know what you want for next time and that you will advocate for what you want. Congratulations on your daughter, i am glad she is here safely.

Also, I've had my waters broken twice, first time after awhile I asked if she had broken them, she said she had a couple of minutes ago, I didn't even notice. 2nd time I had them done I knew- not because it hurt- but because straight after the midwife said baby had a lot of hair, and I called her a liar 😅 ( she was right though, could put it in a wee pony tail at a week old)

Oh wow I feel so sorry for your friend!! 😭 and I can’t imagine having five babies! I think I’m happy with just the one 🤣 I wish in the UK we had the same midwife like you. Also I loved NZ when I visited there, I want to go back!!

@Georgiecarr thankyou, it's been almost 5 years but she'll always miss and love her beautiful girl 💔❤️ haha sometimes I watch videos where people have 5 kids and I think " well, they're crazy ...oh. wait. So do I " 😂 Oh have you been here? That's cool! What part of NZ did you visit ? I long to go to the UK one day, so much history!

Hi Georgie, I recently watched your video about the challenges you faced during your baby’s birth, and I couldn’t hold back my tears. Becoming a mother truly is one of the most extraordinary yet difficult journeys. The moment you shared about your baby’s sudden heart rate spike and the need to induce labor was heart-wrenching, and I can only imagine the strength and courage it took to go through that. I’m so relieved and happy to see that everything turned out well-your baby is absolutely adorable! I’ve also watched your recent videos and absolutely love the warm atmosphere of your home. It’s heartening to see how your husband and mother created such a nurturing environment for you during this time. It’s a reminder of the power of love and family. I hope your little one grows up healthy and strong, and most importantly, that you continue to prioritize your own physical and mental well-being, living a life full of love and confidence. Congratulations on overcoming such a tough journey and becoming a wonderful new mom! To celebrate this beautiful new chapter in your life, we at VidaWheel would love to gift you our Hera Peacock necklace, which symbolizes the happiness and protection of marriage and family. The peacock represents safeguarding every loved one within the home, and we hope it resonates with your journey as a new mom. We’d also be honored to collaborate with you. It would be amazing if you could style the necklace and share your feelings about your journey to motherhood-before and after-and offer words of encouragement to other women who may be walking a similar path. Wishing you all the love and blessings on this beautiful journey ahead. Let me know if this resonates with you!
