Nice collection. I'm a bag junky myself. The place I've gotten most of mine from is here in the states. They used to have great deals and discounted shipping but in the last 10 years it's become cheaper to shop varusteleka out of Finland. Shipping is more than half priced from Scandinavia than from Wisconsin US. I used to get 2 or 4 bag lots for great prices. I have the little rucks with leather closure straps. Listed as JNA (Yugo) or Serb surplus. I removed the inner pockets and use them for shotgun shells etc. Waxed one long one and use it as a foraging bag folded up. My current Fav is the Soviet Veshmoshock bag. Its ugly, simple and overall great. 30 to 35 litters.

Great video. That Finnish bag is a real staple in bushcraft, or so it seems. Most guys I see around here have one.

The unidentified bag looks to be a MKVII gas mask bag. UK issued. Famously used in the Indiana Jones movies as his satchel.

That's a lot of sweet looking packs! Pattern on that east german is really cool, was looking at ponchos in that on Varustaleka for a while. I feel I need one of those finnish bags also... Chez bag is cool too! That last one reminds me a bit of the polish bags. Depotsjefen dot no sells new condition canvas ludvigs, probably ships abroad too, cost about 55 or so pounds tho. More ragged ones are to be had for half of that or less. Ordered a as new M53 assault pack from the above mentioned site for 30 pounds that I am expecting in the mail soon, got a lot of the same features just a small framless variant. Thanks for sharing!

Making my collection look puny, just started like a few months ago. Wish I had gotten into this sooner really as it's a fun hobby. Got a Norwegian Ludvig pack ordered coming from varusteleka , hoping it's canvas but whatever the bags are getting super hard to find now. Found some danish packs from Numrich guncorp, got 4 things ordered from them. Otherwise the collection is mostly small gas mask bags at the moment. The danish bags style certainly sit right with me despite them being British designs really.

Also good to know I'm not alone in this weird hobby!

Kinda doing these replies as I watch the video. Would love to find myself a LK35, but only can find them at a decent cost from Militarymart and well, I'm not too keen on ordering from them as have heard some not the best stuff about them on top of your little bit of luck you mentioned. My goal is to find a French F1 (f2?) 70 litre boy that extends. LOVE the looks of them, but can only find 3 places with them. Both places want like $40 to ship on top of asking $50 for the bag. Then the other place doesn't even have a proper UI on the site! So none of them for now...

Nice collection. Do you actually use all them bags?

I might be able to ship you a good condition Ludvig in canvas for fairly cheap If I find one locally, shipping can be a bit pricey tho!

Checked shipping for something like that, its like 40 pounds hah!

The bag that you are unsure of the origin of... It is a British MK VII gas mask bag.

looking at the strap clips on the Yugo/serbian small rucksack, the clips that would clip to the bottom of the bag in backpack configuration, can those be removed?
