"No feeling is final." That's so true, and something I need to remember more often. Great third episode, looking forward to seeing how you fare in Colorado!

I’m really enjoying this series. You’ve done an excellent job. I’m just blown away at how much extra time you would have taken to set up all those five second atmospheric shots. However at 15:20 you’re sitting there in the pouring rain complaining you’ve got forty-four miles until your next water source. You didn’t think to put out a small plastic tarpaulin to collect water? Wilderness survival 101.

Thanks far watching! I definitely had a lot of extra miles, but it was worth it. I definitely thought about collecting water off the tent, but the wind was so severe it would have blown my bottle or the pot away. By the time the wind stopped it was hardly raining.

Last year during tne race, a couple of racers took refuge from a storm in a random porta potty on an trailer. The pictures are hilarious after the fact, but show how bad it can get out there in the basin. You can see they had been battered by rain and mud, but they all have smiles on their faces.

@@MoveWithMurph No worries. Family first. Random strangers on KZbin and their weird need for great GDMBR content second.

15:06 “all good things must come to an end”…..but death, destruction and disappointment will always be there. The last part is mine. That’s why the saying isn’t “all bad things must come to an end”.

It would be nice to know what towns/POI you're passing, and where you're camping or staying each night.

Nicely done. How much water did you take into the Basin? I only saw two water sources there. Fortunately no rain. Saw some storms in the distance, though.

My typical 3 liters. 🤦🏻‍♂️ I was drinking very conservatively once I realized I may have made an error.

@@MoveWithMurph yikes. I was worried about the Basin the entire ride. Kudos for making it with just a few liters and solo. I took eight. Probably more than I needed.

@BretSchnitzer I would have paid a large sum of money to have 8 liters. Although it was falling from the sky, it needed more.

I would have to tie it off to the tent or else it would be back in Idaho.
