Any 2 handed weapon like sledge axe or pickaxe should 1 shot zeds. They're just people with a rage virus. They'd be vegetables after the first hit.

This is to compensate for the fact that the Zs are still very poorly optimized from a technical standpoint, meaning there are relatively few of them at any given time on any given server. So they had to make them harder to kill with the lowest tier weapons that you can find when you spawn. Otherwise the game would just be too easy.

Its a fantastic game but a lot of players stop playing because it takes so much time to learn. If you do start to play learn how to survive before you start on pvp. It will definitely help in long run so when you do get into pvp you will usually always be full health, full of meds and ready to kick ass
