The Mỹ Sơn ruins are the remains of an ancient Hindu temple complex built by the Cham civilization between the 4th and the 14th centuries. My Son Ruins is located in a valley near the village of Duy Phu, in Quang Nam Province, Vietnam, around 70 kilometers southwest of Da Nang.
The Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is considered one of the most important archaeological sites in Southeast Asia. The complex consists of over 70 tower-temples, all made of fired brick with stone pillars and decorated with sandstone bas-reliefs depicting scenes from Hindu mythology. The temples were built over a period of centuries, and each one reflects the different styles and influences that the Cham people experienced during their long history.
The Mỹ Sơn ruins were heavily damaged during the Vietnam War, but many of the temples have been restored by archeological survey of India or are in the process of being restored. The site is now a popular tourist destination, and visitors can explore the ruins, learn about the Cham civilization, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the surrounding valley.
