The strength of the vessel can be demonstrated only by the hurricane, and the power of the Gospel can be fully shown only when the Christian is subjected to some fiery trial. If God would make manifest the fact that “He giveth songs in the night,” He must first make it night. -William Taylor

You can see the text written on their faces, absolutely wonderful expressions; each one of them telling a story. That is how music is done!

I just heard the best soprano section of any choir anywhere out here on the internet.

I grew up in NW Minnesota and heard the great Concordia Choir sing this piece often. It was a deep, Christian experience each time, whether Paul J. Himself was conducting, or his wonderful successor, Rene Classen . Paul J. would be thrilled and proud to hear one of his most poignant arrangements sung this well.

Wonderful unity of tone, earnest expression and precise consonants. The performance reveals a deep level of engagement worthy of this beautiful peace as well as abundant musical talent. (And yes the low D at the end sounds great.)

How in the world could there possibly be empty seats for this performance?

Other than some stilted pronunciations of the English language this was gorgeous.

Beautiful. Very well done. This is one of Paul J. Christiansen's most glorious arrangements. But the vowels in this group are strange. Thuh, Jesös, comfert... very odd.
