My daughter when she was around 4 she said she wanted to be a boy and change her name and dress like a boy. I told her she was a girl and if she still felt the same way when she was older then we would discuss it further. She was not to happy about it. She is now 12 and is the girliest girl you will ever meet. Turns out she wanted to be like her two older brothers. She is the only girl and is the baby of our family. At that age she didn't understand she can still do things boy do with out fully turning into a boy. I know that's not everyone situation but I do feel in a situation like this you shouldn't feed into it. Wait till there older and understand exactly what it is there looking for and missing and then take the steps to assist them and support them in those permanent life decisions.

Well put! I think there must be a lot of us out there. Tomboys until we hit puberty and then we realise that we want a slightly different relationship with boys/men....! I've always hated my body, my height, bearing and brain working all lean heavily on the masculine side of femininity. But when the itch strikes I have no doubt exactly what I want to scratch it! 😉 And I was never been short of boyfriends. Happily married 25 years now. To a man.

if a tomboy can be loved and accepted why cant the "boy version of tomboys"? We may not have a name for it, but if girls can dress "like a boy" and "act like a boy" for years and "grow out of it", then this child can dress 'like a girl' and we'll see if later in life how this child chooses to present themselves. It is a choice and may or may not change as they continue to develop their identities. it is simple.

How can they know they are in the wrong body? Just because a boy is sensitive, plays with girl toys and likes to bake doesn't mean that he is suffering from a gender crisis. He is just playing, having fun, trying to please mom and dad because that's what children do. The fact that his parents are posting these videos of their child says who it is really about. I have an online business that caters to the Pride community. I have no issues or sensitivity on the subject. @avaxcado There are ways to let kids be themselves without assuming or putting It into their minds that they can change genders. Just let them be kids. If they decide at age 18 or older to become the opposite sex then okay. That's on them...that's an ADULT decision that they're making on their own because they're grown. Kids don't understand any of this or what It means to "change" their gender. Hell I can't even get my almost 5yr old to understand the difference between what a grandparent is vs great grandparents. Kids also can't make up their minds when It comes to choosing a movie or a show. They pick this then they pick that it's a constant "not sure what I want" everyday with my kids. What makes you think they can make that kind of decision for themselves? They can't...they don't fully understand and it is an adult decision.

I wanna know more to this story, i kinda hate these short videos. If the parents are coercing him to wear these things etc I wouldn’t find it okay. If the parents are teaching them dresses are for everyone etc and he chooses to wear dresses then I don’t really see an issue. The only issue i see is how society looks at it and how parents feel pressured to make their kids do things the parents feel is better in specific cases where the parents aren’t letting the child fully knowingly choose and understand the choices they are making. Which in situations like this it should be child led, and communication needs to be crystal clear. Any confusion will lead to confusion, that’s just how kids work
