My soul doth magnify the Lord, and my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour.

Песнь Богородицы «Величит душа Моя Господа» → (Лк. гл.1, 46-55) - прямое цитирование Евангелия от Луки. Хвалебный гимн, воспетый Пресвятой Богородицей Богу в одном из евангельских событий, является вместе с тем хвалебной песнью и Самой Богородице. Эта широко известная песнь, особенно любимая церковным народом, звучит на утрене православного богослужения и предваряется словами: «Богородицу и Матерь Света в песнех возвеличим!» Матерь Света - как родившую «Свет человеков» (см.: Ин. 1, 4).
