Preachers will often study and preach on the very issues that they are wrestling through in their own souls. They wrestle with God's Word to find clarity and Biblical truth to help them on these matters. Needs such as what are some ways that we can grow in grace in the Christian life? What are the pillars that we need to have firmly rooted in our souls to make progress in our heavenly pilgrimage?

I'm from Africa and I have watched many sermons in my life from the European and American preachers but i have been so blessed with Paul Washer's sermons. His purely a bible based preacher and teaches the word as it is and not what the congregation wants to hear. God bless his ministry. I thank God who led me to his videos recently in my quest to know Jesus.

You are right. I regret wasting most of my time in church listening to junk. Paul Washer, Steve Lawson, John Piper, John Macarthur, Voddie Baucham and other are a great inspiration. Search for their books, on-line. They are a great resource.

I’m homebound too and had a recent additional health scare. I couldn't make sense when I spoke. I just could say “pen”. I knew who I was and who my husband was but that was about it. They did many tests and found nothing. Before my CT scan my husband asked the neurologists what we were looking for. They said “there's only so much can be done”. They were looking for things that could not be treated (I could understand language, I just couldn't express it). 24 hours later, in a flash, I got my speech back and was my old self. My tests all came back negative. The first word that came into my mind, I could even see the word in my field of vision, was God. He saved me for whatever reason. I still don't understand why he saved me but Brother Washer is helping me greatly. God bless you all

It's good to hear that. Your faith will be tested thru your life and attacked, always pray on your issues and ask God to help you. No matter how hard it may seem, it will work out if you put it on God's shoulders. I take everything to God now and my life is much better. Even though there are things missing, i see how blessed my life is. This world is God's footstool and he is right above us watching us like little ants. 🙏

Man, this is why I love the life of Christian and the different stages in life. I remember brother Paul when he was younger, he had such a strong zeal and conviction; which to many seemed aggressive. But he has changed in ways that seem more human; where more people can relate to. I feel like because brother Paul has gone through so many experiences it has made him into a fine Christian wine.

Brothers, pray for this man of God. That he become free from historical entanglements, English Puritan tradition, in particular and receive continued fresh revelation into the epistles, the issue of grace vs. law in particular, that is so important to St. Paul, rather than the issue of grace vs. works which Paul always places in light of the law, as in the phrase "works of the law, " in this verse: "By the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight, for by the law is the knowledge of sin." (Romans 3:20) It is seems that Calvinist tradition lacks an appreciation for the book of Romans due to incorrect assumptions about the law of God--that is still in force in the Christian life, that it is a curb to sin, that it is divided into parts, some applicable, such as 'the moral," some not, such as the 'ceremonial,' that the Ten Commandments are in force, but the other, lesser moral laws are not, such as not charging interest to your countrymen and returning property during the Jubilee, etc. All sorts of confusion which Paul, that is St. Paul addresses in the New Testament.

Finishing the video now and it's such a blessing to get biblical knowledge of who God is, His attributes and His plan for our lives. Personally, I struggle with knowing many of these things, not out of excuse but rather pride and shame. I, rather recently, went through a break up with an unbeliever (we weren't married). Getting to know that God is still loving and faithful and that's why He wanted me to give Him the relationship is so beautiful. I truly felt defined by my relationship with my ex and the shame that came with it. I knew I was being disobedient to the Lord but I originally kept the notion that because I don't feeeeel good about letting go of it means that I can work around it instead. But hearing that God loves us more than we love ourselves and He's smarter and wants the best for us is what I need to understand. My life is meant to live for Him and apart from Him there is no goodness. And sometimes, it's not going to feel 'good'. Sometimes you feel like you're doing the wrong thing or you're an embarrassment to God to what you've already invested your life into. But by the promises of His word, I can tell you that God is more powerful than any situation or circumstance you're in and He will take care of you but you're gonna have to trust Him. How do you if what you're doing is right/wrong and how do you learn to trust Him? Get to know Him. Read the Bible, study scripture, spend personal 1-1 time with Him or be in fellowship. How can you know how God is in control and what He wants for you if you don't get to know Him? How can you have peace from a situation, not knowing that He is good and He is in control for good? For myself, how can I know that God will take care of my desire of marriage if I don't know what His word says about it? I knew the verse, "Don't be unequally yoked." But did I truly know what God's definition of that and why it's so important as a Christian? No, I didn't. I originally saw it as "religious obligation". I truly didn't know that the Bible calls us to run the race of endurance and how that looked like and, not only that, but I had no peace what the idea or decision. I know it says to let go of the weights (sin) that easily traps us but I didn't know how that really looked like and how to consistently do so. I still don't fully know (that's why I'm studying about it right now) but I hope to encourage you to compare God's commandments (what He calls us to do) with who He is and His attributes. If you know God loves you so so dearly and He says not to be unequally yoked because what fellowship do believers have with unbelievers then learn who He is and His why and find peace within His word. God loves you and He knows best. All of the good gifts come from above. Find peace and joy in God's loving kindness, justice and righteousness. I broke up with my ex twice: the first time I did so out of wanting to be obedient to the LORD but I didn't have peace in it and didn't take the precautions needed to healthily cut ties. Within less than a month we started to talk and date again. I still held on to the identity I resonated with in that relationship and, in a sense, felt personally and morally obligated to do so. I desired the LORD but I was trying to serve two masters. So, with an honest eye, I was trying to seek the LORD as equally to as my relationship. I intertwined those two things because, during the time, I felt like those are the two things that get my up in the morning and give me life. I didn't realize how much I didn't find the LORD as sufficient and still desired the things of this world i.e., always 'feeling good' about every decision you make or compromising a beautiful relationship you can have with a godly spouse in order to fulfill that desire of marriage NOW. I won't lie, I still think about them sometimes. I still think about how much I got to know them and how I love them. But as I got into God's word and compared it with my thoughts and livelihood, I realized I am being very self-centered and glorified myself through it all. As much as I perceive myself to have good intentions and a "good heart", I was not living in accordance to God's word and, instead, followed my lustful passions without really knowing I was. So, as I continued to study God's word, I find that I don't need to define myself off of my past or the things I've done and how I can carry myself but rather understand God's goodness and plans and that He has me in the palm of His hand (He is in control). He will fulfill my desire of marriage and provide for me circumstantially but apart from those desires do I see Him as sufficient or enough? If He allows to go through seasons where I'm single and you never know, maybe I'll pass away before I get married, but if that happens, will I still love Him? Do I seek God because of His goodness and who He is or am I just wanting to fulfill my desires? It should be both in the sense that you trust Him with your life and desires but understand who He is and His plans so that the joy and peace that surpasses understanding is found resting in Him. (Thank you for coming to my TED Talk. Jkjk.) If anyone could keep it in prayer for me, I'm struggling situationally at home and want to do my part to grow and hopefully move out but I want to pray about trusting in the LORD and finding comfort and peace in who He is and His plans for me rather than trying to do everything out of my own strength and understanding. And, I want to compare my situation and attitude with God's word rather than comparing God's word to my situation and attitude (what does this mean to me, taking it in a self-righteous way vs what is God trying to reveal, taking as to humble myself to God and His word) Jesus love you. Accept Him to be the Lord and Savior, repenting of your sins and giving your life to Him, and He promises eternal life and peace in Him and that He will guide your steps. Take care!

Amen! Keep your mind in heavenly places where Christ is seated. A Job mindset. The devil will try and accuse you and take all that you have, but stay faithful, trusting in the Lord, and he'll restore and multiply all that you lost. He knows the plans for you. Plans to prosper you and not to harm you. Plans to give you hope and a future.

It changed my view and delivered me from self-righteous thinking. I was always acting like God is looking down at me because I have sinned and because often I don't get the things quick and fall into self pity or self-righteousness. Love this. I remember the first time I heard Paul. I had never even heard OF him. I was going to a church that I knew was twisting the Bible to manipulate and control people. I didn't know the Bible well back then and I certainly didn't grow up in a Christian home but I knew manipulation when I saw it and yet they tried to make think I was so lost (and I was) but not about what I was seeing (it was a charismatic church) so after about 8 months of craziness I got on KZbin and searched false Christians... Imagine God is revealing Himself to you and what He is showing you is contradicting everything going on around you...so I typed in the words "false Christians". As dumb as it sounds it had never occurred to me there would be such a thing, what would be the point? Let alone in leadership. I felt completely alone and lost and confused and beyond afraid. On KZbin the first sermon that popped up was "Are you truly saved?" I watched it and cried the rest of the day. I wasn't crazy or paranoid or possessed. I became obsessed with reading the Bible and I read and read and read and spoke boldly when "Christians" contradicted it. That was between 5 and 6 years ago. I've read the Bible 17 times since then. My relationship with Christ...even if I could write it in words (there are none), it couldn't be comprehended by the human mind if read. Honestly I have a hard time finding a Sunday morning church but I'm always at Bible studies and I have gained two other sisters in Christ who have joined me at my pace of reading the Bible and we share what we learn each evening. Sorry for rambling. Anyways this is the first time I've felt that feeling of being alone. It makes me feel unsure and even though I know the Word as much as I can I feel like I forget it when called on to share. I feel less bold (though no human has shaken me) I just feel like.."God, did you leave the 99 for the one? Is that where you are?" And all day long I just keep repeating over and over in my mind, " I will never leave nor forsake you." So this was a timely, a very timely, very needed sermon. It quieted the enemy thoughts that were taunting me. Thank you, for everything. Again not enough words...

Hi Holly. I was just wondering to myself if I could find a Godly church in my area, when I read your comment. I live in a liberally "progressive" area and I don't want to be misled or have my children influenced by worldly people that could harm them... I am not fretting, though, because He knows and that is of great comfort. My walk has been lonely at times, but learning about God has given me foundations to stand on, and that loneliness leaves me. I have had the song It Is Well With My Soul playing in my mind.. I will share it because it is so lovely: kzbin.info/www/bejne/kIrVfWyblpaLi8k This sermon was incredible... it really was inspiring to hear so many truths. I think I understand now all the comments speaking ill of Brother Paul - he did a good thing here. I wanted to comment you back because your comment echoed my thoughts. Going by your name, I will bid you closing with peace and calling you a sister in Christ (I, too, am a sister in Christ.) God bless you.

I just want to encourage you Paul, how much I get from your teaching. I am EXTREMELY blessed to hear this teaching, and God willing, I will be relistening to it. Praise God for His work of grace in you, to bring forth such teaching through you as with this message. It is refreshing to see someone who comes across as genuine, humble, knowledgeable in the word, and who teaches the Scripture as it is (I do not want to hear what my flesh wants, I want the truth that transforms). I want to encourage you to keep going in the truth no matter how hard it gets, and however much others turn away from the truth. There'll always be some of us who desire the full counsel of God, the truth as it is, undiluted, or breadcrumbs. Keep going - what you say is a breath of fresh air! I long for the Church to understand the beauty of conviction and repentance, submission and surrender to God. They are beautiful. And also the wonderfulness of seeing how sinful we are. The more we see how sinful we are, the more that we can see how loving God was in doing what He did on the cross, and the more we know we are (and can only) trust in Jesus for salvation. People understand God so little. I've always felt like an outcast wherever I've been in Church, because of my teaching of the Bible and desire to do what's right, which many see as being over the top. Yet, I know I am the one with the treasure; and praise be to God for His grace that sustained me through all those times, enabling me to continue longing after His ways, instead of desiring to fit in - praise be to God!!!! I want to say thank you for the download-able MP3 recording of this message also. Much easier to listen to than on KZbin, and even without Internet, thank you!

And she said that part of the verse says to me “ YIELD”. God woke up my thinking . Yes give thanks but it’s important to yield to God. 1 Thessalonians 5:18
