Was so looking forward to this game and one of the reasons I wanted a PS3. First game was brilliant

Incredible. Looking at the PS3's potential, we absolutely didn't need the mediocre PS4.

PS3 felt like such a big leap over the PS2, the PS4 always disappointed me.

PS4/Xbox One was the weakest gen with the very least innovation.

@@otacon5648 That just isn't true. Horizon Zero Dawn on a standard PS4, can be put up against many games over 6 years after it came out and still come away as the easily better looking game tech wise.... and it made the same jump as most other games this gen to a native 1080p presentation. And that's just one game, there are MANY more games that were native 1080p AND looked like a fairly significant jump visually. You're thinking of Xbone. 5 years after Infamous Second Son came out, Crackdown 3 looked like a last gen game compared to it... and didn't even run at Full HD either. It was like that for Xbone its whole life. THIS gen has been far more a disappointment than any other gen. Imagine if Bloodborne, Uncharted 4, Ratchet and Clank (2016) were all PS3 games too. Because we are already further into PS5's life than when those games came to PS4 in it's lifetime.

@@andrewsqual Very good points well made, but I grew up with the PS1/PS2 (and before) so the PS4 gen games after the PS3 were just disappointing.

This is the most no brained take, really. The PS3-PS4 leap was actually quite huge. Not maybe in terms of CPU capability (they used a weak-ass CPU for that gen but it was STILL leaps and bounds above the Cell processor... don't buy the propaganda. The Cell processor wasn't that strong. The 360's PPC CPU was more powerful and more representative of the direction that CPUs were actually headed. The PS3 Processor was an experiment.) The fact that you had so many games running in a blurry mess at 30fps 720p on the PS3 is a testament to this. What the PS3 could do at 720p30, the PS4 base could at least do at 1080p60. That's without remastering. (Not to mention the insanely long load times, poor memory, and just absolute shit tier spaghetti architecture.)

It's funny, really. This isn't all that impressive, even for the time, but many of us were really hyped for this. The amount of excitement around this game was no small thing... So its cancellation really came as a shock to a lot of folks. It'd be like GTA5 being cancelled before it came out.

The tech demo is so cool. God I would love to just wander around and explore it. Also love the PSP advertisment on the bus :,)

Brilliant video mate. I still can't believe you are the only person who was at that E3 2005 event that was capturing all these trailers and videos at direct feed levels. ^_^ I haven't seen that GC 2006 video in a long time, I forgot that one existed lol. Seeing it now, I'm guessing that was Amsterdam, it looks very like the location in the city that was the main feature of that Call of Duty level last year that people were saying looks very life like looking. Did you ever get any raw footage of that game "Eight Days" from E3 2006? I believe it was another cancelled game that London Studio were working on for PS3.

Thanks for the great feedback. For Eight Days I have the E3 2005 tech demo (exploding gas station), and the E3 2006 trailer, but only at comparable quality to what's already on YT. A shame it was cancelled as I just remembered it - looks cool, especially a kind of Breaking Bad-like setting

Why is everyone driving Vectras and Corsas ? 😅

Licensing. Never mind that those cars were also everywhere at the time. They didn't have the license to use every car make and model in a tech demo.
