This is what most women who file for divorce give as a reason. They aren't having fun. The only reason people get divorced is because at least one of them wants to get divorced. People want to do these things. Doesn't make sense to get married in general.
@aboolowoaa51794 жыл бұрын
Dave's financial advice is good but his success has gone to his head elsewhere. You know your religion and finances well, but your commentary on society is no more enlightened than the other millions of boomers out there. You act as if deadbeats haven't been around forever. Those deadbeats have always abandoned their families one way or another. You can't blame this on a culture shift that you purposely refuse to understand. You're smart, use your head. In the past, many of those "manly men" beat their children, neglected their households and took their wives for granted. Some still do today, but I guarantee it's fewer than in your day when it was normal. The erosion of gender roles which have been invented by European society is not something to be mourned, but celebrated. No longer is dad limited to being a disciplinarian who barely raises the kids. No longer is mom required to be a homemaker who is forbidden to pursue her dreams to better our world. Our goal as a society should be to maximize every person's freedom.

@bettywith2girls3 жыл бұрын
Yup. I've heard that over and over again, and usually the 2nd marriage turns out much better than the 1st, bc it's a better match. It's actually better to move on with little kids, bc they will be more accepting of the situation and won't sabotage the new relationship like they might when they get older (thinking mom & dad will still get back together). I've know many people in 2nd marriages and they are very happy. In fact, I've found that, in the 2nd marriage, men are much more willing to make it work and not just walk away, bc they remember how horrific their divorces were with the 1st wife and they don't want to have to go thru that again! For this lady re: this video, this could be a blessing in disguise and she may not want the 1st husband back.

It's aggravating to see this type of behaviour. A friend of mine was pressured by her husband to have kids. She wanted to work at least 3 more years to be more stable in her career ( here we get maternity leave for a while and most women work after that ends). He convinced her to have the kid then. He told her to not worry because his money would cover everything if she lost her job or if her career got stuck. He wanted soooio much to be a dad! Yada yada yada. This vent on for months until she accepted to get pregnant. The kid is almost 2 years now and apparently he wanted to be a dad. He just doesn't want to parent a child. He also continues to want the best smartphones, mercedes, go out on fancy dinners, etc etc etc. He also wants to sleep and that his child is quiet... Yeah... Not happening with a 2 yo. And she isn't fun either. Why? Because she has to tell this man-child that he can't blow up all his paycheck or his kid won't have anything to eat. He doesn't care. Because he "worked hard for his money and he has a good income". The problem is having children with this kind of egoistical type of person.

When a 2 year old toddler is abandoned (and so is the mother because "she is not fun anymore") who celebrates that (a women would be more judged than a man). - Yes women also cheat (that man has chick at the side, no doubt about it) - but they usually do not walk out of a marriage with a small child / children. And they almost never initiate the divorce witht the GOAL to LEAVE the children with the man - to make things worse. The man that wants the divorce takes for granted that the mother will take care of the child and will want to remain the main caregiver (as is normal at that age, if the mother is not a complete failure as caregiver). This is not about a mid life crisis or interpretations of her behavior. SHE does not want to end the marriage when she and the child are vulnerable, he does. And when women are encouraged to leave or "praised" for leaving it is NOT when she walks away from a 2 year old. Unless the partner is so damaging (domestic violence, addiction, ...) that she has to be out even if the child or the children are little. Needless to say then the kids leave with her.

While my husband didn’t tell me I wasn’t fun, he did file for divorce and wrote me a letter stating he would “pay” me for 6 months until I get a job. Our daughter was 2. He took her and went to his parents and left the letter on the table when I came home from knitting. He didn’t have a mistress. He said he just felt it was stagnant and he wasn’t happy anymore. Hand of God story. Our daughter suddenly had febrile seizures and stopped breathing. He panicked and called me. We went to the hospital together and after she got discharged he begged me to take him back. Said God opened his eyes. She never had febrile seizure again. I never cheated. I didn’t do anything out of the ordinary. I had also just invested part of my inheritance into his company. I don’t believe there was another side to every story. Some spouse/partner just “feel” they can walk away and take everything they want. He snapped out of it though. I figured maybe some men also have hormonal issues after having a child. Dave Ramsey isn’t on a jury. His job is to take the caller, or in this case “emailer”, at face value so other people in similar situations besides the caller can get help. His advice to get a good lawyer was good. The courts then decide who’s more responsible. I’m tied of the men bringing up that statistic that somewhere between 70-80% of women initiate divorce indicating that the one who initiates divorce is always the bad guy and then when the man initiates divorce, these same men say there’s 2-3 sides to every story. Mother of 2 year old initiates the divorce because her husband is "no fun" - that is not a real life scenario. Sometimes women leave their little ones with the men and are out, but then it has usually to do with addiction. Might play a role here too, but the "you are no fun" does not indicated. Boy-man could overwhelmed by the responsibility of being a father, and no it is not always fun if they are little. There are male teenagers in the bodies of men that rise to the occasion - and others that walk away because it is "no fun" anymore.
