Now, 1.5 year later, I by accident stumbled on an IMDB entry: "Dani Connor Wild, Sound Department"... "Known for: Dune" 🙂

That Baby Pear is the voice of the muad'dib just MELTS MY BRAIN. And other vital organs!

Congrats Dani That is incredible, who would have thought baby pear eating would have such a massive impact on so many people, and now used in a movie.
@Monster-gr8on3 жыл бұрын
I think your squirrel movie was so great. National Geographic quality. Now we have a Swede talking in Dune thanks to you :) ed: yes Rebecca Ferguson and Stellan talks aswell, but baby Pear talks in native tongue! :)

Hey, that’s my Dad! What a pleasant coincidence this got recommended to me on YT. Great interview.

The desert mouse is an important part of the story too. If I remember correctly in the book it is called Muad'Dib, and it is the name that Paul adopts among the Fremen. I'll listen out for the sound of Baby Pear when I see the film.
@exert20203 жыл бұрын
interesting that the second Paul put hid father's ring on the mouse turned up.
@bargepoled3 жыл бұрын
That's true. The desert mouse is very important in Fremen mythology because like the Fremen they have adapted to survive and thrive in the deserts of Arrakis.

Who could have imagined that a baby squirrel's voice is charming the movie world?

It’s crazy to think that Baby Pear’s sounds will be forever immortalized in film.
@QualeQualeson3 жыл бұрын
Forever and immortalized basically mean the same thing. You cannot be temporarily immortalized. This is what is know as a tautology, the needless repetition of a statement or phrase. So here, you simply scratch "forever" and you're golden.

@@QualeQualeson Pleonism: the use of more words than are necessary to convey meaning (e.g. see with one's eyes ), either as a fault of style or for emphasis. Can't fake real. This is such a good vibes story. I will watch the movie soon as well. The work Dani did with squirrels is amazing, both visually, biologically and from a story telling perspective. It's awesome her work will now become part of popular culture!! I hope she has a line in the credits!

This is so strange! I have just returned (about 2 hours ago) from seeing Dune at the BFI Imax in Waterloo also (15:30 show) and I have opened up KZbin to find out that the maud'dib has been dubbed by Baby Pear!! I completely agree with you Dani, the film is brilliant and I just hope that it isn't too long until the next instalment comes along with more squirrel dialogue.

The way I see it is that the baby squirrel made so special sounds for you Dani because they knew you saved their life acting as their mum. That's why that sound is so expressive and now will live forever in Dune. I am a sound guy too and indeed had never heard anything like that. The first video I saw when you buried the poor Remy in flowers told me that you are a special human being Dani. Thanks so much for helping all these innocent souls, this is what our planet needs.

I couldn't believe what I was hearing... that the Dune desert mouse was in fact Baby Pear 😮😃 I can only imagine what seeing that movie for the very first time must have been like for you. Huge congrats!
