Today we do an overview of my Turbo Ameri-Barra Vortec 4200 DOHC VVT Inline 6 DOHC VVT powered 1981 Ford Fairmont Station Wagon. We talk about the Chassis reinforcements, trans brake Turbo 400 transmission, 9 inch rear, and S480 Turbocharger. This thing is a true sleeper with a chromoly 8.50 cert roll cage and low 9 second time slip.
Thanks for watching!

That brings back memories of the '78 Fairmont sedan I learned to drive in, except it was a a stripped version with the 4 cylinder and 4 speed stick. You were lucky to get such a babied, low mileage car to use as the foundation for this project. Some amazing workmanship to get all of these mods done without giving away any clues from the exterior. Don't forget that these Fox bodies were also decent handling cars back in the day, at least the version that I had (with 1/10th the hp of this build).

I love it but I get worried about using a caged car on the road with no helmet. Front and side impacts - cage can dent skull Even with a helmet, side impacts can still cause cage to crush ribs. There must be a way to make a cage that takes these things into account. They can create blind spots around A pillars by effectively making them wider too.

I just picked up an 82 mercury cougar wagon and really don’t want to use a fuel cell for my ego swap. Does your tank use the stock fill location? It looks like the filler is just connected with a hose and hose clamps. Any problems with leaks? I’m struggling with a fuel tank solution.

Yeah. It uses the factory fill. I just bought a universal truck tank from Tanks Inc. then I drilled a hole in it and welded a tube to the side.

@Calvin-Nelson
@Calvin-Nelson Жыл бұрын
Not nearly as well. They lack cylinder head flow. You'd have to put LS heads on it and it would still not do as well. Also the length of the crank will not like RPM. Hard to make HP with an engine that doesn't want to rev. Trust me, I still get the itch to get a 240 Ford 6 and put Gen V LT heads on it. Maybe someday...
@Project-gr6zy

@@Calvin-Nelson have you seen pat nahans 300 punching over 8500 rpm, or talked with some of the guys from Fordsix?
