MY STEAK DINNER AT RUTH'S CHRIS STEAK HOUSE IN PALM DESERT, CA - A review

Believe it or not, this was my first time dining at Ruth's Chris Steak House. This was at their Palm Desert location, outside Palm Springs.
The history of the chain fascinates me, it was started in 1985 in New Orleans by single mother Ruth Fertel. She was looking for a job and instead mortgaged her house to buy a local steakhouse that was for sale. Her focus on quality ingredients and making everything in-house made it popular and the rest is history.
I thought the atmosphere was very luxurious and high end, perfect for fine dining. Service was excellent and the food was seriously amazing.

Best Restaurant and Steak ever! Never had a bad meal there. Traveled many years from Upstate NY to the Mid-Town Manhattan place. It was under the GM Management of Jeffrey Hubbling at that time. He was the best manager ever! Really miss those times...

I love this place I will tell you a secret almost every restaurant uses frozen shrimp .. high quality flash frozen thawed cleaned prepped a few hours before you arrive .

Come on, no serious restaurant would use frozen shrimp. People can taste the difference. Yes, cheaper restaurants, casual dining places probably all use frozen shrimp and frozen other stuff too. Thanks for watching.

@@FreddySherman wrong shrimp must be frozen as fast as possible . Only a high end sushi restaurant can afford to use fresh never flash frozen shrimp . Freezing technology is specially developed for processing and is not your normal home freezer. .chef morimoto showed off his 60000$ deep freezer .Even your beloved fresh looking tuna is sometimes flash Frozen packaged in Vietnam thawed at the distribution point and sold as fresh . Most people can't tell that's the truth about our industry. A fish I have issues with is sole . I leave it alone .

I’m in the Michelin star restaurant business. It’s true, shrimps are flash frozen. Even in higher end restaurants. Doesn’t necessarily means it’s bad. I would prefer a frozen shrimp over a „fresh“ one who travelled days. Anyway, that’s why we don’t serve them at all at work.

Luxurious Frederickson! This Ruth's Chris is only about 30min from where I live, but the one in Anaheim is just down the street from where I work. Alas, I've never been to either one. Good showcase, brother. Happy New year!

Last time I ate at RC the steak was a disappointment. I had a ribeye that was just ok and the sweet potato casserole stayed too hot to eat with meal. The highlight was seeing the great Mariano Rivera dining with his family.

First, cool on seeing Rivera. Second, how can something be too hot? Third, sorry to hear about the ribeye but was it a cooking issue? Like they didn't cook it to the temperature you requested?

The very funny thing that happen to me yesterday was a guy bashing Ruths Chris for being a cheap Steakhouse. Well it may not be Pete Lugers or the CUT but Ruths Chris is definitely a consistent upper tier Steakhouse. With not only a nice ambiance but an average guest check of 175$ for my date night to match.

I ate at Ruth's Chris once and won't go back. The $40 steak was just okay. The $11 baked potato, was just a baked potato and $11 salad was just a salad. So for $62 plus tax and tip for ONE meal, I could have eaten at Texas Roadhouse three times and the entire meal is actually better at Texas Roadhouse.

Was the steak as good as a char broiled steak? I just don't like the idea of a broiled steak. I have cooked them that way but always seem to lack the flavor.

Of course it does. It has barbecue sauce on it and it's cooked on a grill over an open flame which is barbecue.

Its easy as 1, 2 , 3 .... Salad, rolls/butter, Baked potatoe, creamed spinach..... STEAK !! Thats it. No add ons/gimmicks/glutenfreetypes.

Best steakhouse have photos of Boxers, Movie Stars, Fast horses and the owners with Celebs at the bar, on all the walls. Waiters dont write orders down at all., ever. and The Manager will stop by to chat !! >>> Thats class, USA !!

You lost me at the first part. The most important part of a restaurant is the food, everything else is secondary. I am OK with a waiter writing down an order, especially if it helps them with accuracy. I do respect when they can remember. Since I was there to review the restaurant, I think they wanted to be sure to get everything right. And the manager did stop by several times to chat. Pretty good. My ribeye was $55, the petit filet and shrimp was $53. Wine was $90 for bottle. Appetizers were $19 each, salad was $10.50, loberster bisque was $11.50, dessert was $11 each. Prices vary by location and you can see them online on their website. Thanks for watching, please subscribe!!

Operationally its taxing for a chain company that employs a lot of people to be sequestered one day and the next being able to seat limited guest back to being off limits. Those employees would not sit idle and wait till the business starts running again. Specially this restaurants are generally a dine in place.

@@nordicblood8470 Looking back at this, I think if the government offers loans or assistance, it's OK for companies to accept it. As long as they follow the rules, like some PPP money must be spent on employee salaries, to keep people working.
