Yea. It has taller shocks. Terry Cable shocks. My seat sets me back 2 inches. With the taller bars it fits me okay. I’m 6’6’’ so with those two changes you should be okay. I also have footpegs to stretch out when I need it.

Hey Matt, love your videos👍👍👍 just dropped off my 2018 Roadglide at my local Harley dealer. Getting my 1k mile service and doing what you did, 4in Rinehart slip-ons along with the screaming eagle AC and tuner. I've also had these slip-ons on a priveous bike 2015 Roadglide but never changed the AC or did the tuner, and really liked the sound of the Rineharts and the bike ran fine. The question I have, does your bike run slightly better now? Or pretty much the same with just a little more sound. Was worried if I did more then just slip-on mufflers I might mess up the way the bike runs. I feel the new M8 runs fantastic stock but really want that Rinehart sound.

I really don't know if you are reading this ; but the issue of mitigating high heat in air-cooled motors ; like the 103 and Mil-8 motors ; already been long resolved by using ceramic coating on tops of pistons, inside the heads, and inside exhaust header. All this water / oil head coolings for 103 , 107, 114 CI motors maybe not required ; short of just running a standard oil cooler for the entire motor. Just another example of HD motor company using bad engineering to solve simple problems.....

Matt, your videos are both informative and easy to watch (not boring). I have 2018 flhxse. When changing slip on pipes like Cobra, do you recommend using a fuel tuner as well? Would the bike run rougher without it? Thanks!!
@MattLaidlaw
@MattLaidlaw 6 жыл бұрын
Yes, I recommend the stage 1 setup as described in the HD P&A book. So get a pro street tuner and air cleaner. It will run sightly better. If you just put the mufflers on there you’ll get the sound benefit and the bike probably won’t run bad but you’ll get zero performance benefit. The pro street tuner can be utilized for any future upgrades as well like if you decide to do a cam or something in the future.

Matt, gotta say I love your builds because they all integrate together to one ultimate "theme". Some guys, when customizing their bikes, end up with a very haphazard look, like the accessories were chosen at random. Yours always come together very well. Your also the only guy I know that can do the whole customization in one shot!! Lol. Most of us its buy as you go lol. That's awesome dude, love the bike. Good shit Matt, sick bike. I recommend some open headers and the SE447 cam and the bike will sound much better. Nicer choppy lope on idle and louder, deeper exhaust note from you slip ons. The torque cam will make you forget all about a stage 3/4, unless you really enjoy winding you motor up to redline. The M8 is a fuckin beast with just a stage 2, the bottom-end is the best thing about them IMHO.

I saw T-MAN Performance has done quite a few M-8 engine builds and has found many heads that had poorly machined valve seats that were too large before the seats were installed. mostly exhaust seats that were causing high leakdown #'s. normal leak down would be 3-5% he has been seeing as much as 25% the video showes the problem . ......kzbin.info/www/bejne/pl69cqOEfM-Cq68

I have customized so many bikes and cars. It’s a lot of fun but also sad on the sale of the vehicle when, like any options, are depreciated along with the vehicle. Actually more people looking for stock cars and motorcycles recently. With expanding emission laws it will be difficult to modify anything as we are already seeing locked ECU’s. More manufacturers have proprietary scanners and tools where backyard mechanics will fade to electric everything. I buy the bike for the engine as it costs so much to modify for a few more horses. I can always fiddle with the less expensive suspension to my liking. Harley could offer stages from the factory to stabilize depreciation.

Reason for the Roadglide SharkNose is you don’t have to fight the wind like you do with a street glide. Street glide, you are fighting the full fairing and add wind to it. Sucks! Batwing is just ugly as Fuck! It’s not a good looking fairing at all!

This was a Perfect Build. I came to see what mirrors you ended up using in some of your latest videos and the custom windshield is sexy!! Love the Bike Matt

Curious to why you went with a street glide? Roadglide is such a better bike! Goobers always but streetglides! They suck hauling ass in the wind compared to a Roadglide!

Hey Matt. I am the same height as you. I have owned an electra glide, a vrod muscle, and a fatbob (ouch). I am always gonna own a Harley but have a bad back. I have owned a sport bike which was much better for my back. I hope they make a big engine sporty bike for a guy with long legs. Thanks for posting your informative videos.

The sport bike was better for your back? Usually it’s the opposite. My advice is get a touring bike with the rider back rest. They make a huge difference.

Matt, wish you would invest in a 360 cam. It will be a pleasure to watch your riding vids.

Lucky you're a dealer, us mortals would have to sell a child or kidney to affordable those genuine accessory after shelling out 30k for a bike...

I honestly have never been a fan of white paint on a bike, BUT...that is one AWESOME bike! Great choice of accessories and accents. Enjoy! You did good!
