Yeah his autobiography is fantastic. I have it on Audible. I just wish Dave himself narrated the book but it's still really great to have. I was also a heavy IV drug user (shooting heroin/cocaine, drinking heavily, taking psychedelics, etc). Any one of us who have been through the fire 🔥 and come out the other side not only alive but striving and sober are as resilient as they come! God must want us all here for one reason or another!

Saw Megadeth for the first time live on Sunday at Bloodstock and got to meet Dave Mustaine the night before the show!!! Dave, James Lomenzo and their road crew were at the same bar as me purely by coincidence. Also very briefly caught Dirk as well. I told Dave I was a massive fan and he said “namaste” meaning he was happy to meet me but too tired to talk. He later came to the table I was sat at, and while he didn’t say anything, he very kindly gave me 2 of his plectrums and signed me an autograph. I wished Dave the best look for Bloodstock the following day before he went and he thanked me. I’ve covered Dave’s amazing work on guitar and vocals for years on end. Thank you Dave for making my life truly awesome, meeting you this weekend was an absolute privilege I’ll never forget!!! “BUT NOW I’M SAFE IN THE EYE OF THE TORNADOOO!!!”🌪️ 😉🤟

He really does have a unique voice. It fits the aggressive and manic sort of music. His snarly, loud and feisty voice is perfect for the music he plays. It's also extremely impressive how he plays those highly intricate guitar chords/riffs while also doing vocals at the same time. It's also saved him and the band a LOT of money seeing how Megadeth only 4 money seeing how that makes the band a 4 piece instead of a 5 piece. The less band members the less money they have to split up.

It took me a few tries as I first thought it was a corny tune like Dave saying he personally wanted to be an astronaut. Little did I know I'd get hooked on the song and that it had a dark twist. About the 2nd time I thought it was Mustaine's version of Bowie's Space Oddity. However, reading the lyrics revealed the cool story line. The entire album is dark just how I like it.

Rough childhood, broken household, poor... Statistically he wasn't suppose to be successful. What makes him inspiring is his grit to keep picking himself up. Self taught on guitar, joined a band that spearheaded the Thrash genre, kicked out then created one of thrash greatest bands. Band breakups, drug use, party lifestyle homeless while making a record and still made awesome music. Poster child of persistence pays off.

The oldest listens to death metal, my younger one listens to numetal. Their dad is a metalhead. I like thrash, speed metal, Neo-Classical/symphonic, power metal, progressive, industrial metal, and classic metal. I've been getting into groove metal little by little. Thanks to Dave Mustaine collaborating with Lamb of God I've been listening to more. I'm not yet hip on death metal but I can get into instrumental tracks Cannibal Corpse has.

I seen my favorite band 6 times and the last 2 were the best ones at Caesar's Windsor. Megadeth is the best live band ive ever seen and like i said i seen them 6 times. This guy is the best guitarist and lyricists ive ever seen on stage and ive seen a lot of bands live in my life!! And i will go and see them again and again every time they come back to Caesar's Windsor as long as im alive!

Such a great interview! I love how honest and genuine Dave is. And there’s a lot of valuable tips in here for musicians, and life, in general. Oh, and I always have one IPA before my shows.

Your interviewing style is so good, ask a question and ya let Dave answer without interpreting. Very good. Metal for ever. ✌️🤘🏴🇦🇺
