That's the power of having amazing guitar riffs back in that day. It's alot harder now since pretty much everything has been done but you can still bite the bullet and give your own take on a classic riff, you will always get the people with no music theory knowledge that try to accuse you of "stealing".. Like no dude, that's how scales and keys work. It only sounds good to most people when you're in key or in scale

I remember 1990 in Hollywood... I was staying at a hotel across the venue that hosted "Clash of the Titans," which was Slayer, Megadeath, Anthrax and Testament.... I could hear the bands from my hotel room. I can remember asking my mom if I could go..... and getting the biggest "HELL NO YOUNG MAN!!" I was just about 13 years old.... Most men say their first heartbreak was from their first Love..... that concert was my first heartbreak... I wanted to go so bad, but mom said no.... that was the year Rust in Peace was released... I wanted that to be my first metal experience!! 1992 rolls in, I saw Metallica on tour for the Black Album, played the Neal Blasdel arena in Honolulu, and my concert cherry was broken. I was an official metal head! I still wanted to see Megadeth first though

Dave is one of those immortal tales of a man who went through absolute hell many times over, and came out on the other side to be a pretty solid dude. Keep in mind, in his youth, this dude was too extreme for a young Metallica. That's proof that even if you walk to the beat of a completely different drum, and people don't see your suffering, you can still fight to be an extremely productive, and influencial person without having to bottle up all of the trauma. Dave always faced his issues head on. Get kicked out of the biggest band in history, oh well, I'll just form another band and start from scratch. As much as his firing from Metallica hurt Dave, in retrospect, it drove him to be something special. Metallica is a band, Megadeth was Dave Mustain. Gotta give Dave Ellefson a shout out too. He was the other side of that two headed coin.

Some souls take many lifetimes to wake up to their fullest potential. I think Dave Mustaine is a super genius of music. I remember working at the Agora and being in his presence then in the 90's a feeling good vibe was what he reverbed.. His band belongs in the Rock Hall. I remember working that particular show at the Agora and when the IDIOT security opened the doors this one kid came barreling down the aisle and jumped onto the main floor and us stagehands watched this kid break his leg, oh man, that memory still shakes me. When people are let in there should be orderly movement and from then on Hank LoConti Jr. for the years I worked for him was adamant about no one running them damn aisles just to get up next to the stage. That was 1997 I am fairly certain and Megadeth played a sell out show that was EPIC. Cleveland loves Megadeth.

Dave has matured so much and is so much more eloquent than the 80’s when I first remember listening to him. I am glad he has developed a relationship with Christ and would love to hear his perspective. He mentioned Alice Cooper. Please Dave do it!. That’s not pushing. It is telling your story. On another note, I saw Dave on thr Experience tour and I actually commented on his social media that he had the most authentic Hendrix tone which the Dweezil Zappa and Eric Johnson tubing session tripped me out to hear about. Dave was definitely a fish out of water on that tour but I thought his tone was perfect and he did thr most authentic covers. so major respect. The other guitarists were putting their own spin on the music. Which is fine but that is ther genre. Dave did a perfect cover.

59:40 i have heard Dave talk about this magic thing before, and it is always with such deep regret and remains very guarded about it. He fully believes in black magic because of something that happened, and i think he believes he is responsible for Cliff's death. Kirk took his job, and some of the footage of Metallica just after Dave was fired shows how ruthless the rest of the band were when talking about Dave. Living it up while he was in despair. And its no secret that Dave hated Kirk for replacing him. And if you remember, Kirk and Cliff drew straws for the better bunk. Cliff ended up where Kirk was meant to sleep, which was ultimately a death sentence. I don't believe in black magic myself, if it worked everyone would be at it! But Dave was quite into it apparently, and ive always wondered if he tried to put some kind of hex on Kirk. Then, when the story came out about Cliff's death, how it happened and how Kirk narrowly missed the same fate, Dave REALLY believed it was too much of a coincidence and blamed himself ever since. I hope not because that would be a terrible guilt to mistakenly carry.

That's what a lot of ppl do, than his haters say he's always crying about Metallica. There was a while where Metallica never came up in conversation and interviews, but for the past 20 years, ppl can't wait to bring it up. They bring it up, not Dave. I don't ever recall a time where nobody asked about Metallica, and Dave was just like "......so let's talk about Metallica, you know I was in that band right?" I'm 99% sure that's the absolute truth

What is trying to do is relate, Mustaine, to everybody else because nobody really knows who Dave mustaine is until they relate him to metallica, who more people know about. He is just trying to integrate him into his audience. People who don't know him, aren't sick of the Metallica-Mustaine correlation like we are

He asked him what it was like looking back on his crazy career. Before he mentioned Metallica, he mentioned Megadeth. And when you're recapping someone's storied career, being a former member of Metallica is def a noteworthy mention.

He got scammed by Metallica. Kicked him out simply for doing what they all did but better than them. Was the most ambitious and they didn’t want him as front man which he naturally was. Stole his music, just the fact he alone started megadeth and got them huge shows how much talent he has.

Dave Mustaine is one of the greatest ,if not THE greatest, guitarist/vocalists in metal music. Megadeth has touched on political and religious subjects in ways that bring the truth to light- and have been in the forefront of thrash metal from the very beginning. Thank God that Metallica let him go, anyway. GREAT INTERVIEW ! Deserves a lot more listens , Dave is a very interesting man, for sure.

Teaching yourself to play an instrument is not as difficult as some seem to think. I grew up with musician parents and music was just a normal everyday part of family life. As a teenager my mom gave me a book that had piano chords charted in it and gave me a brief explanation of how songs are nothing more than repeating patterns of chords and said if I can memorize the chords then I can play anything. So I did, then soon after my dad told me that it was the same with the guitar and if I can memorize the chords then I can play anything, Over 30 years later and if an instrument has strings I play it. I have over 160 videos here on my channel of me playing all those instruments, and I was totally self taught. And if I can do it, then anyone can do it...... and should.

I always loved Dave! A lot of people say he's a dick or this and that, I'll tell you what, that guy has exceptional talent, has never resorted to a political stance outside of his songs that he writes. I will always respect that! People have no idea how much talent and ingenuity it takes to play something so complex, like he usually does. he's very very good at keeping people's interest in the song. People strongly prefer simple music and simple words and if they can't get that they usually aren't very interested in it. it's too difficult for them to understand. His songs have a high degree of technique and intricacy in them and it's amazing and shows how good he is, that they made it to be one of the top tier metal bands in history. None of the other bands could do that. Megadeth is the only one. Sir Mustaine is both uniquely creative and very clever. Almost 50 years old and I still Play along with my darkest hour and set the world on fire at least once a week
