Hi. Interesting video of your MG. Those driveshaft rubber universal joints 3:29 do behave like a constant velocity joint btw due to the rubber (I replaced them with after market Quinton Hazell?? needle roller universal joints and vibration was evident under hard acceleration as the front suspension rose so increasing the angle the joints had to work at; it didn't help that the car was an early Mini 1275GT with Hydrolastic suspension). Good idea to change the final drive ratio to a higher value for quieter and more economical highway cruising. P.S. I'm looking forward to viewing your video on the Riley (traditionally a sporty marque).

The A series 1100 mg engine is very interesting as a tuning proposition. Standard 12g295 cylinder head twin Su's same bore as 1,000cc block with a long stroke crank. interesting with cooper high compression pistons in. I put one in a mini van with a 3.44 to 1 diff' to give it "long legs" might have been interesting on 12" wheels in the M.G.

In the early 70's I put such an engine (1098, 12G295 head, Duplex timing gears, single 1 1/2" SU, 3.44 diff) in my 1962 Mini. Went like stink. Still have the car, going to fit 12" wheels soon.
