I randomly stumbled upon this video and it was really helpful. I’ve been going through taking on other peoples emotions my entire life. I struggle with trying to find a balance because I love connecting deeply with people and understanding them but a lot of the times it feels like it comes at the cost of my own energy. Thank you for sharing your words and a bit of your journey

I totally hear you! Empathy can be such a beautiful connecting experience when we choose to engage in it. The most important for me was developing that sense of choice

I'd imagine that telling your story felt very vulnerable. Though I would like to say that hearing about your story (so similar to my own) helped clear up a lot of the murkiness that I feel regarding my struggle with relationships. Thank you for this!

Hearing this makes sharing my story feel totally worth it 💜 it's so hard to put words to these feelings so I'm glad that my attempt helped clear some things up for you

This video needs to be the bible for all recovering empaths and people pleasers. You have put to words my exact experience, for which I cannot find words for. Thank you so much.

Thank you for your kind words 🥰 one of my mentors Maryam Hasnaa calls herself a "retired empath," which I love! I hope you can also enjoy your own well-deserved retirement 😉

@@SchoolforRelationshipsMaryam Hasnaa is where I first learned about healing from enmeshment also. Great video! Sometimes we need reminders.

When your past therapist pops up in your algorithm it might be a reminder that the work is ongoing :)
