After the Lord broke my depression I still had trouble going out even to church. It was in church that the Lord broke it all off of me!! Then it became a choice of convenience, so I got on a "serve" team, so I had the accountability to come to do a task. One time I was considering going to church late for the teaching and not the worship and so clearly the Holy Spirit asked, "You don't want to worship me?" Since then I've not had that consideration! :) Thank you for sharing!!

Hey Jessica, thank you so much for this episode. I honestly have listened to it 3 times in a row because I can relate to your story so much, but also because I believe God is nudging me that He wants to heal some parts of my heart as well. I have done sooo much counselling throughout my life, dealt with past trauma and whatnot, so lately I've been feeling so discouraged that I am still struggling in some core ways, or feeling like I'm regressing somehow. But when you mentioned that in your counselling session, you didn't blame anyone...you didn't blame it on your upbringing or marriage or anything, but you took ownership of it...I feel like that's where God confronted me gently. I feel this invitation from Jesus to deal with MY HEART, not my past or trauma or what not, but just really look at my heart for what it is and confront the places of deep resistance. So thank you so much for this

Jess, God has been leading me to you in such an undeniable way. So much so that I was in utter shock to hear you say that you saw the flaws in people and at one time you let it determine your future! I almost broke down in tears! I have experienced what you went through inside, struggling with others flaws and being closed off and guarded because I didn't want to get hurt. I could not believe that I was able to relate to SOOOO many things you talked about! Which was a blessing because I rarely heard things i could relate to often!! I am also in a better place now. I am a new minister as of January 1st. 2024. It is a huge honor and I'm so excited! One of the things I want to do is to stay candid and authentic! I don't want to just look the part! Thank you for your transparency. I have raised my kids in the church and none of them are serving the Lord. It breaks my heart since the only thing I care about is their salvation. They suffer from Pastor Kids syndrome. All too often throughout their lives they were judged for being my kids and not putting prayer and true love for one another. They saw so much injustice in the church and the toll it took on us as a family. So I applaud you for speaking out on the hardship that we who are ministry family's. It truly is a sacrifice. However I trust that my prodigal will come home to our loving father. Standing on His words and trusting our Father is my solid rock that I stand. Thanks for your testimony it is so encouraging m.

So good! Thanks Jess! The Lord started speaking to me almost daily in dreams, visions, and directly over the last 6 years. But the last two years, it has been rarely that I can notice. Last year I was dealing with stress from dealing with changes in behavior of my two daughters as a single father. I started having heart and lung issues and almost drowned while surfing, though I always trusted in God and held on to hope. On my way back from a mission trip, I was asking the Lord why was I having symptoms if I have completely trust in Him. He showed me a vision of Jesus when he was sweating blood before he was put on the cross. Wow, it shifted me in the way I think of, we can be strong in spirit, but the flesh is weak. Long story short, a week ago, while i was taking a couple days for rest, I had a dream of you. So I looked you up and saw this podcast. Wow, God is so good. Thanks for sharing and showing me that those who are also soo gifted still will have seasons of challenge. Its rare that a leader will share their current difficulty while in a blessed ministry.
