game_on_us01 everything is harder in year 12. Even subjects like Art, and politics is quite difficult, legal is quite intensive and media too, it’s easy to mess up. Everything needs you to to focus.
@Ena-qy3ik4 жыл бұрын
game_on_us01 I think you’re speaking about being academically smart. Everyone can be smart in different ways whether it’s creatively smart or being socially smart ect. Intelligence isn’t only about academics, it’s about a lot of different things.
@tahliapearson96034 жыл бұрын
@@binrat3020 there are no definitive criteria to being 'smart' languages are extremely challenging, and that is why you receive bonus points and they are scaled up (including English). You need to calm down, did you get and ATAR of 98.85? No I don't think so, so go back to being a bin rat. xx

as ridiculous as it is, a big part of ATAR scores also come from your school, private schools are hugely advantaged and get much higher ATAR scores overall. also the best way to maximise your score is to do well both in class an in the exams; if you average 60%s throughout the year and whip out 85%s in the exams, you wont all of a sudden get a high ATAR, they'll average your mark to be somewhere in between so it is important to be consistent.
@MVKreal4 жыл бұрын
nah u would tho the sacs are all about rankings if ur getting 60 but are very highly ranked, especially in a private school or select school ur sacs will be pulled up to ur exam score.
@notdoingeetswa36904 жыл бұрын
alison jayne idk if this applies to other states but in nsw, the students at your school basically determine whether your final assessment mark gets dragged up or down. it honestly sucks so much because even if you worked hard on your own but come from a disadvantaged school, there will be people who don’t care and drag your effort down with them. our assessment marks in school don’t even count towards the final mark in hsc it just counts towards a rank...
@appletree44334 жыл бұрын
Lol no, the exam for some subjects is 50% of your ranking so it scales more in comparison.
@alisonjayne7544 жыл бұрын
@@appletree4433 Im talking about the scaling and moderation. If you do really well and year an then do badly on the exam, they'll scale you down because maybe your teacher marked too easily or whatever
@noname-r2n6s4 жыл бұрын
if u average 60-70% throughout the year and then get like 80-90% for the exams will you not get a high atar? (i’m speaking an atar of like 80)

Thank you so much for this! I would love nothing more to be a paediatric nurse and get into university! Hi Isabelle congratulations on your ATAR result! It's important for students to remember that your ATAR tells you about where you are positioned in relation to your age group (16-20 year olds) within your state, ATAR is about your POSITION it is not a mark, grade or score :) We also recommend students choose subjects that they are good at and interested in. Feel free to watch our videos and subscribe for more ATAR and NSW/ACT university entry related content

I’ve still got another two years till I graduate, but can I say that your teachers also matter. In grade 10 I got two A’s and three B’s, but I got one D. That’s because of the teacher I had. I really tried my best in it but she was pulling me down saying how terrible I was, and if she hated one thing in something that I wrote up I would have to fix or change everything in it that I worked so hard on. She wouldn’t only pull me down, she’d pull the whole class down.

I was motivated to do really well in school from year 7 and so far i still am. To put it in perspective, in year 7 i was getting Cs and Bs, year 8 i was getting a mix of Cs,Bs and sometimes As and year 9 and 10 Bs and As. So from that you can see how motivated i was to do well as every year i improved. Recently my cousin who graduated in 2019 actually told me " i wish i cared so much about school like you do." That just proves that if you want to do well in year 12 its easier in my opinion to start early, however, if you realise you want to do well and your in year 9+ you can still do well, but it might just be a little bit harder. But i just want to say if you dont do well in school it not the end of the world. There are always other alternative pathways to get to your dream outcome. X
