Most people may tend to be obsessed with hitting only low notes in subharmonic, but I think high subharmonic notes are also interesting to hear, not pointless. I can’t hit a F3 in subharmonic!! So impressive, super cool.

Thanks! Technically you’re not that wrong... High Subharmonics can be used for a little bit of distortion when singing. But that‘s about it when it comes to usability.

Yeah! That’s what I heard too. His modal seemed to be F3 throughout and went to 2nd (Bb1) and then the third with the F1. Cool!

Damn I haven't been able to sing 3rd subharmonics yet(well I have once but it wasn't very clear and not below my lowest 2nd sub note) I've been learning subharmonics on and off for like 2 weeks and so far my lowest 1st sub was an F#1 and my lowest 2nd sub was a C1(for context I'm a baritone and my lowest chest voice note is usually around an Eb2 but I can hit a D2 or Db2 in chest voice sometimes).

Being able to sing 2nd subs after just two weeks or learning subharmonics is crazy good! I hit my first good second sub like two months after I started learning. Keep going man, you’re on a great path!

What is your full chest range? What's your lowest and your highest note you can sing??? I am curious to discover your chest range!!! The lowest chest note I can go is a B1, even though I went to a Bb1 and almost an A1. My highest chest note is a G#4/A4, I guess. My highest whistle note was an A7. Highest falsetto note: D7/Eb7. Lowest subharmonic: F0. Highest subharmonic:F3. Lowest growl and highest one: A0/D2.

Hey, my full chest range is F2 - A4 on a normal day. My records are C#2 and B4. My highest falsetto daily is around A5 and highest ever is D6.

Yes, that‘s my lowest recorded „note“. It was sung using ingressive phonation. Which is basically vocal fry, just inhaled. But I don’t really count it to my range since it’s more of a frequency rather than a note. I will only ever count things that I sang in a musical context. And here on my channel that’s a B0. But today a new video comes out which breaks that record ;)

I only managed to reach the 3rd subharmonic twice aswell. And because i thought i could do better, i deleted one of the recordings. I think that one was a Bb-1. It sounded like crap. But guess what. It have been a few month and i could not do it again since. :c

That‘s unfortunate. Are you sure it was a Bb-1? So your fundamental must have been B1. That‘s very low.

@@jmbmusic1 Yes. It was quite early in the morning. I was trying to get to a D0 in 2nd subharmonic (with A1 fundamental). But that did not happen. And from what it looks right now, doing the 2nd subharmonic from such a low note is quite difficult. My limit seems to be closer to F0 or F#0 (and a little lower in the morning of course). However that could change since i have very little practise yet.

I can't do subharmonics in the third scale, like: E3, F3... That's really hard. My sibharmonics (I've started recently) just hits the scale of 1: B1 and Bb1 Nicely done.

Well, having subharmonics in the 3rd octave is completely useless. It’s not really intended to be a technique to use for high notes ;) I just included my highest Subharmonic note here for fun. My most comfortable subharmonics are E2-D2

@@jmbmusic1 It's been 3 three months since I left a comment in this video, and I have been practicing it(subharmonics) for almost one year, and I can now sing A1, it's weird, but that works. Haha A think I am a low baritone, so I use sub just to go lower then C2. My range is C2-E4. I need to work on chest fry to hit B1-A1, because it's really strange to sing those notes with subharmonic register. Great work!

Was ist dein tiefster brust ton, und wenn man mit 15 ein e2 und manchmal ein d#2 schaffen kann als tiefsten brust ton, bedeutet dass das ich ein bass bin? Hat sich auch toll angehört wird bestimmt noch besser oder tiefer :) 👍

Danke dir! Mit Bruststimme komme ich täglich ungefähr auf ein F#2 oder F2 runter. Mit 15 ist deine Stimme noch nicht voll entwickelt und kann sich noch stark verändern. Deshalb kann man das jetzt noch nicht sagen. Außerdem sind andere Faktoren noch wichtiger als deine tiefsten Noten um deinen Stimmtyp festzustellen. Aber wenn du Spaß hast Bass zu singen, dann singe einfach Bass ;)

Ich bezeichne mich selbst als Bariton, da meine Sprechstimme zwischen E2 und G2 liegt und mein tiefster Ton ein D2 ist. @@gray01216 Hey, Ich spreche dich mal mit ‚du‘ an, weil du ja am Anfang deines Kommentars auch so geschrieben hast. Erstmal danke für dein Interesse! Wie ich in einer Antwort weiter oben geschrieben habe ist die Stimme mit 15 noch nicht vollständig entwickelt, daher sind Fragen bezüglich deines späteren Stimmumfanges schwer zu beantworten. Grundsätzlich ist es aber unwahrscheinlich, dass deine Stimme wieder höher wird. Das kann sich höchstens im frühen Rentenalter ändern. Allerdings kannst du deine Stimme natürlich trainieren um höhere Töne zu erreichen. Das dauert aber natürlich eine Weile. Jetzt komme ich zu deiner Frage bezüglich meiner eigenen Stimme. Als ich noch ein Kind war, hatte ich eine sehr hohe Stimme. Mit Ende 13 ist meine Stimme innerhalb weniger Monate tiefer geworden. Seitdem hat sich nicht viel verändert was meinen Tonumfang angeht. Jedoch hat sich meine Stimme ‚gefestigt‘ und ist in dieser Tenorlage wesentlich sicherer geworden. Ich hoffe das beantwortet deine Fragen.

@@jmbmusic1 Hey, danke, dass du so schnell geantwortet hast. Und ja, ich habe gehört, dass einige Stimmen in den 60ern höher werden könnten. Das ist bei Ken Turner der Fall, seine Stimme ist jetzt ziemlich viel höher und es fällt ihm schwerer, tiefere Töne zu treffen. Ich hoffe wirklich, dass meine Stimme leiser wird oder zumindest gleich bleibt, denn ich möchte auch Bassist werden, vielleicht auch Basssänger. Danke für die geteilten Infos!

I can’t really add anything to David Larsons tutorial. Get subharmonics nice and consistent. Sing some of your higher subharmonic notes and try to make another transition. 2nd subs are really fun but not really worth the effort. Getting 1st subs mastered is the way to go. But of course feel free to play around with it as much as you want.

Thanks for stopping by!!! The third subharmonic is something I was able to do only three times ever. I was sick at the time of recording the third sub so my Voice was a little bit wrecked and that helped a TON.
