As already commented below can’t really see the pictures you took. We’ve had great difficulty getting semi open and sounds like you do at 3:10-3:20 with hi hat. Any chance you can list the settings you have made? You’ve achieved the best quality hihat sound I can find for the Alesis strike pro!

Ditch the moveable HH and get a DM pedal. I no longer have these settings because I dont use a hihat stand! ALL moveable e hats all suck. The link to my video on that is above
@AllenLind3 жыл бұрын
Otherwise if you insist on using the real HH stand method, you can still get the idea from this video I suggest a log 1 top pedal curve now and log 3 on bottom. start with pedal sens at 65 and thjen experiment. read the manual and understand ALL settings . The pedal curves detyermine the ability to get semi open sounds as do the actual voices in some cases

I recently bought the same drum set and using a couple different type of splitters, I added a mirror HH on the right side (also controlled by the left foot HH) a second mirrored ride for my left hand, an additional mirrored crash, and lastly I pilfered the sound from the floor tom rim and used in on a 9" Lemon splash that I bought. You just go in and edit it to a splash or anything I guess. So I added four more instruments and it only cost me that floor rim sound. I just reused my old cymbals from the Roland TD-9 I have, they all are all rack mounted. It's easy and it adds a lot to the set without taking much away. Just a heads up, I didn't even know it could be done till I saw a video on youtube and it changed everything. The splitters work great.
@AllenLind2 жыл бұрын
As long as you don't mind losing the rims splitters are great. I split tom 1 rim for a splash (alesis dm pad 12 cymbal) and the tom 3 rim that I hooked to a roland BT-1 Bar Trigger for sidestick on snare. Otherwise for me, thats all I need as the kit more than satisfis what I need as far as pieces!
@robertkees60482 жыл бұрын
@@AllenLind I love being able to ride with my left or right hand so that second ride is great. I'm a left handed human, right handed drummer, ambidextrous rider. The stereo mirror is cool cause you duplicate the ride and the crash, but you don't have to use the rim sound, you just mirror it at no musical cost. Now if I could only have that coveted sparkle purple that doesn't yet exist.

@@robertkees6048 right a ‘y’ jack will mirror whatever trigger it’s connected to! I guess Elise is keeping only one color keeps the price down. Hey brother, I am using all your recommended settings and they seem great. I am having HH issues though. One, it keeps spinning, but more importantly, when I hit the edge it doesn't usually detect edge. When I hit the bell it detects the edge. Any ideas? Thanks!
@AllenLind2 жыл бұрын
Yea the bell triggers the edge sound.. just how it is.. I wouldn’t use it though. The bell really isn’t a supported zone and you could hear the electronics which are under the be. Are you using a real HH or status with pedal controller? For real HH the clutch should prevent spinning as it has a build in spin stopper. If you using static on a regular stand I took one of the stoppers fro Another cymbal and cut it flat at top to fit the HH but actually just switch the HH cymbal with a crash and use ITS spin stopper and put the HH on a reg mount and since your using a a crash, it won’t spin much if any… you can also try a star lock washer

hi, allen. it seems that there is no good way to set the metronome on the strike module besides approximating a tap. is that correct or is there a better way to set an exact bpm? i just don't see it and can't find it on youtube. also, there doesn't seem to be a good voice count on the metronome to practice odd time signatures, either - i've had to resort to looping wave files that count for me haha any help you or anybody can provide on this topic would be greatly appreciated
@leeknivek10 ай бұрын
You can use the encoder to scroll up and down on bpm, I use the tap to get close and then round it off (because 153.6 bpm is just not useful)

@@leeknivek oh, i just realized that you can use the scroll wheel while holding down the tempo button to change the bpm. that's the part i didn't know. it'd be more intuitive if the bpm section is highlighted on the screen when the tempo button is either pressed or held down it's odd that i upgraded from the first generation of the alesis crimson, which has a voice count (this helped me learn 3/4 time for church), and the strike "pro" doesn't have a voice count...

Well most people found this very helpful so maybe you need glasses.. HOWEVER , obviously you DIDNT READ THE DESCRIPTION WHERE I HAVE A LINK TO CLEAR PICS!! THESE WILL GET YOU IN BALLPARK Also the hihat stand controller is also USELESS. I use a DM continuous pedal controller now and have for 3 years+. In the same description you DID NOT read, the is a link to a vid on that. I'm also betting you did NOT read the manual/user guide you can download from the Alesis roduct page so you get what you give... You MUST read at east 3 times while sitting at your kit. IF YOU DONT UNDERSTAND THE PARAMETERS YOU WILL NEVER GET ANY OF THIS RIGHT. Good luck and try reading other comments. Youre in the minority PS - On the pdel triggers, try LOG1 or EXP 1 on the top curve and either LOG 2 or 3 on the bottom. Depends on your playing but the hihat stand controller ALL suck - roland, goedrum etc - at least in this range. ALSO - Balance the foot level with the overall hihat sounds to get realistic close and chick. The the HH has 3 sounds. Edge, Bow and Foot
