Mine's on the way. Took it over an equivalent Roland set because.... Well, it isn't equivalent in any way but price. The way i see it is even if i have to replace multiple pads, even multiple times, it's a bargain over everything else in its class, and i'm no pro. I don't need the utmost reliability, i need the utmost fun after a long day at work. 😁

I've had mine for the past 6 months best purchase ever. I remember back in the day playing electric kits the technology just wasn't there. Now the technology has come so far it literally mimics exactly what an acoustic kit can do. And on top of it electric kits are the way to go because you can do so many other things with it compared to an acoustic kit.

I still love acoustic kits but electric is just so versatile. I used to work back shift so could only practice at 2am. DEFINITELY couldn't when I only had an acoustic. Then got an electric and was blasting all night 👌🤘

True but you're going to use a vst anyway so internal sounds don't matter that much. At this point V-drums is a great midi controller. because the sounds belong in the 80's.

kuronoryu there are compatibility charts online that would help answer this question. It’s not one size fits all unfortunately. I know the newer Alesis modules like DM10 and beyond work with many Roland pads. I’d assume Roland also supports cross compatibility but you need to check the charts on Alesis and Roland dot coms.

Wow, that electronic kit #12...one that is actually usable. If only I can load those up on my DM10 (which does allow custom drum sounds) but I'm sure not in this way unfortunately. I just learned how to extract the drums from Superior Drummer and get those on my module. There must be a way you can sell in .wav format!

The mixing of the kit is perfect. Only problem I have is on the first 3 kits where the kicks are concerned...this is because of the bass boost on the kicks are indicative that they processed. Turn the frequencies to nominal level on them so the ambience can shine through ( just like the rest of the kit). That's my only thing. I here many drum kits and the bass boost (especially kick) takes away from the natural ambient bliss. You don't want something to sound mic'd even though it is, you wanna leave near space between the instrument/vocals and the listener on a recorded track. Hence why we use pop shields, although in a live performance the bass boost may be nice for the aux speakers for the benefit of the crowd. I may be wrong, just a humble opinion ALL IN ALL it's fantastic the work done!!!

Hi Brandon, if you want to use external sounds anyhow, I would rather suggest a Roland TD-17 based kit, as the triggering will be much better than with the Alesis kit & module in any configuration. Well, the Alesis definately is not a Roland or drum-tec kit :) so yes, there are some very cheap components built in the kit probably, but therefore it is more affordable than other "big" kits. I have the Roland TD10-W and while it's great, the features on the Alesis are hard to shake a stick at. Roland lost me when their prices kept skyrocketing and the sounds and features don't justify those prices. I like the fact that Alesis adds drum kits with updates. They're more customer centric. Hi, keep in mind that playability & triggering are on a completely different level with any Roland kit/module, the Alesis has some problems with the hihat controller & dual zone functionality. Best would be to try out both side by side if you can . Kind regards!

Amazing kit but you know that is the flagship of Alesis so isn't something really surprised that has so much good sound and these great cymbal pads.Only the setup of hihats it seems a bit out of order, it sounds like Zildjian Low without triggers sometimes .The Pearl export set is amazing maybe far better than the natural sound of exports!!What do you mean custom kits by Drumtec?? At the software side point??All hardware and pads as seen is Alesis!

Generally speaking, a kit based around a Roland sound module will have much better playability/triggering, the Alesis can be somewhat problematic concerning the hihat & dual zone triggering especially. Hallo! Schwanke zwischen Roland TD 17 KVX und alesis strike pro se. Gab es die letzten 6 Monate viele Probleme mit der alesis Hardware? Roland gilt doch als stabiler. Nice playing as always. If you go between a roland and the alesis kit, do you feel any difference in latency? I imagine the roland will feel snappier because of the ultra low latency.

Hi, it´s probably not only about the latency, but general playability/triggering is on a completely different level with Roland in every way (especially dual/triple zone triggering, hihat controller, dynamics & overall "accuracy", which might have to do with latency also). Kind regards!

@@MrJupiih Hi, yes `d say the TD-17 has more flexibility & you can split the tom head/rim sounds independently (on TD-25 you can´t). You won´t have positional sensing on the snare on the TD-17 though, you´ll have to decide if this is a deal breaker for you. The great thing about TD-27 (sounds apart, which are always a matter of personal taste) is compatibility with the Roland digital pads & more trigger inputs / audio ouputs & the USB audio interface functionality. It basically is a smaller TD-50 at half the price. I'd recommend the drum-tec Jam series with TD-17 or a diabolo series with TD-27 for maximum authentic playing feel & best trigger performance, you´ll find demos of both here on the channel.
