Great to hear some stories behind the games. What a collection, enviable. Some years ago my father got rid of my console and the games, he gave it for some charity thing. Now, a reborn SNES fan, I'm building my collection again. My latest "new" game is Mega Man X, what a masterpiece.

I don't have an old gaming console like this, but I do have a bunch of old Super Nintendo games that I play on my computer through an emulator program. I just finished playing Super Mario World a hour ago. I still love these old games from the 90s. I have many games from Nintendo, Super Nintendo, Sega Genesis, and others. I'm still addicted to these old games. I'm a 90s kid to the day I die. I grew up on these games. I still remember the first Nintendo my cousin let me play when I was a kid.

@supaflylaxman Actually i heard thats not the case with the yellowing. My SNES was never in the sun. I always had it under a shelf. What i heard is that there was a batch of SNES consoles that just had different mold material. Afte time they just yellowed because the material was just different. Thats what i heard at least.

@SystemSyko12 жыл бұрын
@mistaphill The DKC series is always fun no matter how many times you beat it. PS2 totally abuses the N64 and wii. I actually think the wii has some sweet titles though. But it does have alot of shitty ones too. I just need the retro controller so it feels like im playing a real system.

I have to admit I got a lot of my SNES and Super Famicom games on eBay when I was finally able to afford them. When the SNES came out when I was in high school, I was only able to get a new game every now and then having to buy games with money I earned (Contra III was a must buy when it came out for me!). What's wrong with trying to pick up games long after the system has ended its run? Unlike hardcore collectors, I only get games that I really like and can see myself playing from time to time.

@SystemSyko It's nice to have. It's not the same as owning an original model but they both work very well. There's a local video game retailer (3 locations) that specializes in used video games where I go for used games. I also have the Super Star Wars games, NBA Jam, Street Fighter II: Turbo, MK II, Ultimate MK3 & more. I may buy a replacement Super Mario World (we have it on Wii) cart Have you ever played Zelda: A Link to the Past or Killer Instinct? Those are awesome games.

@Nicksolo85 NICE! were the same age so i can relate. I got my SNES in August of 1992 on my B-day. I kinda wish i had a model 2 version. Just so i can lay to rest my original SNES. 20 years later and it still works like a champ.
@zombee3812 жыл бұрын
@SystemSyko I agreed with you but what makes a console to be great its the games developers support (3rd party) that allows for a wide variety of games and increases the chances of great games to be released on a particular system. That's why NES,SNES & PS1 are so awesome. The N64 lost much of that 3rd party support because Nintendo stubbornly decided to stick with cartridges as the game medium when everyone was moving to CD-ROM . Nintendo paid a high price for it.

The second I saw the Michael Jordan game and heard you describing it my thoughts went directly to Shaq Fu. I know Shaq Fu is a fighting game and what you're describing sounds more like an adventure game, but it's just the fact that there's another game with a pro basketball player randomly having to save the world or some shit.

Also I remember my dad would ONLY go to Dillards in this one mall, so it was a huge shock to see a N64 and FZERO on it there for one Christmas. We used to have a big McDonalds in my local Wal Mart where they also had a N64 in there. Another McDonalds had two computers (not consoles) where you could play a PC version of a Need for Speed game and some Barbie game as well.

We got ours for Christmas in 1992 (when I was 7). Our original 1 broke but I got a Model 2 from my Grandpa in 2007.

@Supergamerofchaos the reason why i bought a PS1 is because the games were just better. I was a teenager so playing resident evil, twisted metal, crash bandicoot and metal gear were more for me. Whereas N64 just had kiddy titles. and the N64 did not even come close to sales when compared to the PS1.

I suggest Super Black Bass and Final Fantasy III. Also ofcourse you know about emulation on a PC and PSP but I suggest for a on the go experience of SNES an ARCHOS Gamepad or JXD S7300. Emulation is perfect just like on PC with an XBox Controller.

Sears, ToysRus and you forgot Wal Mart. I bought my Genesis there in 93. I remember playing Donkey Kong Country and Ecco the Dolphin there when I was a kid. (Before they turned the stores into Super Centers). At some of the stores you could request to change the game cartridges at the game stations. Kids would be in line to play the old games, anytime I go to Wal Mart now, there either isn't a controller hanging out to play or no one is playing.

Yeah, its cool. I think its a hell of a deal for you, and plus I'm not a big fan of Megaman. I got Megaman x2 from my neighbor for 10 bucks, so I'm not really losing anything. I opened it, cleaned the contacts, and the game plays fine. I just thought maybe you'd like to complete your Megaman X collection. I got Chrono-Trigger too, would you want to do anything for that?
