Liked and subbed. Say, being a FJ owner for a whole 5 days, one of which with a blown headlight bulb, step up to the Sylvania 9003 H4 when you need to replace. The bulbs actually put out similar color light to your add on lights on the grille guard and I can see really well with them even on low beam. A bit pricey (the dealership compensated me well for changing my own bulbs) but worth every penny!

I love your rig👌🏽 I just subscribed. You have a great personality 😃 I’ve read many reviews that mention one negative is the blind spots. Would you agree? Have you modified to make visibility better?
@GetLostwithBrooks3 жыл бұрын
Big time. Also maybe just a little small? I chose it for the vibe as well as the capabilities. If I were to lean less towards aesthetics, I would have gotten a newer 4Runner or Tacoma.

Love the solar setup! I to have an 07 FJ. For lights I went with the factory wire harness and switch in the cab. Then I added a big relay and a set of 7" round single LED lamps. The lights were about 70$ off amazon and the OEM harness and switch were just under 100$. I really wanted to keep the OEM functionality of the lights. They turn on with the high beams when enabled. The reason I went with big lamps was for driving in moose country off road. Nothing will ruin a trip like hitting a moose at 40 mph, 75 miles away from pavement. Have you had any issues with the weight of the tent and you on the roof? I know the OEM spec is only 150 lbs.

Aaron! Dude, glad you're liking the rig. Yes, man, plans for sure, but I'm taking my time. Right now, the interior is super flexible - I keep extra gear in bins which I can customize per trip. Some structure would help me have a permanent kitchen, and maybe a permanent place for my air compressor. In due time!

I also have a fj 2010 but I'm real OCD about certain things so i have to ask. The on off switch for your lights. Why did you drill a hole in your dash when you had to empty spots just above and to the right. The 2 rectangular covers were meant for accessories. Just curious.

Hi. I'm Michael, a FJ Cruiser Driver from Germany and I'm searching for some ideas for my modifications. And your Rig is just cool. But i a have a question about the Rotopax Watertanks. Do they turn green if you are out in the desert? And how easy are they to clean?
@GetLostwithBrooks4 жыл бұрын
Hey man, I love my Rotopax water canisters. They haven't turned green on me yet, and I've been to the desert many times. For cleaning, I've dropped recommended amounts of chlorine in there. There's not really a better way to go about it. Rotopax are great if you lack interior space. I do see a lot of guys using any old water canister in their trunk, and it works great without costing a lot. I also have a generic canister if I need to carry more water. But since my FJ is kinda small, I usually just load out the Rotopax and call it good.
