Years ago when I worked for a Honda Dealership, I used to thoroughly clean the floor of my bay every other night after work. All the techs thought I was insane for doing that but I told them that I didn't want to track any dirt in the customers cars. Ironically, they all started cleaning their bays as well 😅..

My mechanic friend dips a couple of grease rags ( the red ones) and wipes down under his lift every day.... It takes a few minutes and is so much nicer to work on.. No trackiing in chunks of grease and dirt......

Gotta count those tie rod turns as they come off, it'll be close enough to drive straight(pun) to an alignment rack anyway I might've missed it but hopefully you jacked up and put a load on the new control arm bushings before torquing Nice work, glad the Lightning is less of a basket case so far than the Termi was

Love the attention to detail buddy makes a world of difference and since you already in there might as well do it. My best friend bout a 99 Lightning right off the showroom floor when they came out we did a few bolt on mods and we hurt a lot of peoples feelings in corvettes, camaro’s and mustangs. Man that thing would move and the sound from the supercharger was something else!!!

Pretty much always need an alignment when doing any lifting or dropping on the suspension of any vehicle, based on which way the tie rod ends are moving will push or pull the tires.

The newer Harbor Freight Spectrum spray guns work extremely well. The premium hvlp and Black Widow models are between $129-$213 and spray as good as my $1400 gun that was stolen. I was really surprised at how good they work. I have sprayed PPG/Omni/Delfleet base clear, single stage urethane and SPI universal clearcoat(best clear I've used in 30 years)

Red maple dropped a deuce in the wheel well liner. I used same black paint and sprayer to do a cowl hood for a race car. Paint laid better than some automotive grade paints I've seen. Love the truck sir.
