@Genevieve I don’t think she is in her 50’s yet. I vaguely remember reading something that mentioned she was born in the mid seventies which would put her in her mid to late 40’s. Maybe it was in her book?! I’ll delve into that. I could be wrong of course! She’s stunning whatever her age is.

The best take ive seen yet! I often see other people use straight up red, which is a look, but I think can look more like sunburn rather than the flush u get from being in the cold 😗 and I agree, the lip is very korean/chinese style, but what I like is it’s the updated version where you blur the first “base” color outside the lip line so u get more shape. The older version (which i see a lot of people do on social media in the west) involves putting concealer on your lips and just the color in the middle, but i find that it can give u this strange “pursed lip” look 😮

As someone who has fairly mild rosacea, I am actually excited for this trend! (But I totally understand other rosacea sufferers wouldn't be.) Instead of using foundation/blush on my cheeks, I use concealer on the edges of the redness. I've learned that sometimes it's just better to embrace my natural flush than to fight it.
@mothmaiden
@mothmaiden 2 жыл бұрын
As someone else with rosacea, I realized it's a lot easier to even out the pink than conceal it completely. As you probably know, rosacea flush likes to splotch, and if you conceal it via the usual layers of green concealer and foundation, I find it can simply have a mottled look still peep through.

I had a funny experience with Cold girl makeups… I did it and thought I looked really awesome… and then I went for a walk with friends in winter market … by the time we made it to the dinner party, my nature red cheek from the cold+make up made me look like an apple with frostbite 😂😂. My friends all thought I have hypertension, needed medical attention. Lesson learned… no walk in cold for prolonged time after applying makeup for party 😅😅😅🎉🎉

Thank you for the lesson, so interesting. I have to say the trend kind of cracks me up as those of us that live and work in a truly cold country battle this look when coming in from the cold!! You get inside and then suddenly your skin is on fire and your nose is red as heck (& dry). But what I do quite like is the simplicity of it after a few years of square and unnatural brows, overlined lips etc. It certainly is nice & fresh, and you look beautiful as always.

My late aunt did that all the time - I don't think she ever actually owned a dedicated cheek product. Those women came of age in a time where there were very few makeup products, especially compared to the overwhelming glut we have now. Besides, lipstick and cream rouge are practically the same mix of ingredients with the exception of some coloring agents that aren't FDA indicated as safe for lip products.

@@romana.in.wonderland I prefer some of my liquid lips as a cream blusher over cream blusher. I buy the cream blushers for the heck of it and just to try them. I always go back to lipsticks and liquid lip colors. I used to watch my mom do that when I was young, but because I loooooove makeup and freelance, I’m always willing to try something new. As addicted as I was to buying makeup 2 years ago, my new addiction is finishing what I own. It has been so satisfying. Have a happy new year!

This is hands down one of my favorite looks I’ve seen you do (and I’ve been watching your channel for like 10+ years). It’s so pretty and so striking while still being really diffused and natural. You did a great job!!

I don't know if I've ever seen someone applying make up more elegantly than Lisa. It's just incredible to watch. Just her imagination, like how she has this very real vision in her head...lol....and she brings it to life in her way. It's cool to see. It's clearly such a passion and she's very good at what she does. I just adore watching her work at her craft and passion!!!! So happy that there are people like this on the planet that are loving what they do and following their passion....too many work jobs they just HATE ... so as to get that paycheck.... but the world would be a much nicer/friendlier/healthier place *or should I say the human race?* if people actually took the time to find their passion, and then figure out how to make money involving that passion!

I love your geeky insights about make up! I use the clinique black honey lipstick all over the face to achieve the look. It works wonderfully. (I have a light medium complexion)
