I know I ignored the pricing aspect of this review. It wasn't deliberate, but it speaks to my underlying thoughts: the price of this case is "meh." I don't think it's outrageously expensive considering what you're getting, but it isn't a "bargain" by any definition of the word. Obviously, you wouldn't wanna use this case in a build with a strict budget. What do you think?

200 is meh price? Talk about ego
@NamelessONEMail6 жыл бұрын
GrumpyFelo When you use this case as it was intended to be used (500-1000$ custom watercooling loops and obviously fairly expensive hardware like 1080Ti ... etc) then 200$ for a case with this kind of exterior build quality and the almost perfectly designed interior is actually very cheap. If you're planning on getting a 1060 and a budget build overall then don't buy this case. It was not meant for you. Get your head out of your ass. I was actually amazed this was just 200$ ... I was expecting 250-300$ when I saw this case presented for the first time. You wouldn't complain about a ferrari or lamborghini being too expensive, would you now ? And this is nowhere near that same price difference between a normal affordable car and a ferrari ...

Awesome video man. I've been very concerned about GPU temperatures with this case based on a few other reviews on it. Your video on this case best represents how I especially would want to use this case. Thanks for adding fans and using an AIO in your review. Just finished my build in this beast. It is a dream. Coming from a 570x mirror black I can say this is the best case ever. Tons of room. Really is a breeze to build in. Rgb lights are nice and subtle. I saw this at that show you went to (computex?), and was floored. With all fan spaces populated (360mm aio in front and 120mm fans elsewhere) it really is as cool as the 570x if not better. Only thing I can say bad is the noise compared to the 570x. At 100% fan speed I can hear them more than what could in the 570x. Mabey cause the glass is more sound dampening at the top? Really a top notch case though.
@pureblackfire5116 жыл бұрын
the more spaced out front panel on the Evolv X makes the front fans more audible outside the case unfortunately. imo Phanteks should lower the price and just include one rear and one top exhaust fan. I think out of box temps would be better and noise would be lower. the front fans are too far away from the gpu they may as well not include them.
@joeywilliams6046 жыл бұрын
I agree with you, the price is not too friendly. I don't really hear it unless I run 100% fan speed. My gpu stays awesomely cool though. I just got done playing the New tomb raider for about 1 1/2 hours and my GPU didn't get above 62C with a 40% fan curve on a gaming X trio. Can't hear the system over the game volume at all. Take what I say with a grain of salt though. I'm new to the PC scene and just amazed.

I have a small video up showing the setup, not a shameless plug or anything. Just so you can see, but I'm not experiencing high temps at all. Mabey I'm doing something different. Unsure. The 570x was good temps too. My room temp is usually 73 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit. What's that like 22 to 24 Celsius?

I have the 570x with a 1080Ti and Gpu is at 55 degrees only. When I game I crank the fans to 60 percent with 1440p settings and goes up to the high 60 degrees. 570x is a good case but the cable management is a nightmare. Good case I like it a lot. Why would you not just get a secondary little SFX size PSU, put it in the bottom under the main PSU-shroud "basement" section, in place of one of the removable HDD bays. Only limitation, is you need a main motherboard power cable way longer than normal for an M-ITX build.

I actually bought this case, my only complain is their cable management on the fan hub and front fans. The power cable to power the fan hub was so well hidden behind all the stock cables that i took me around 30 minutes to figure it out I was powering the wrong one and that was the reason that fans were not working. A bit of panic mode was not helping tbh. Beside that I keep a stable 60° on heavy load on cpu and a 70ish on the 1080ti, the build is quiet enough and overall good looking, cable management was easy, there is plenty of room to keep it clean, the rgbs are addressable by the mobo so the shiny lights that keeps gamers happy are on point. Filters works well (I have a cat that likes to sit on top of pc and in front of it, in 3 days the amount of hair was actually massive). I would recommend it based on a 15days test BUT is also the first high end case that I build in, so no real point of comparison. It sure is a lot better than a 70-80€ case.
@oldskoolhead05 жыл бұрын
couple of things to mention about this case, 1) the (painted in) motherboard stand offs take the smaller screws (that there is most of in the box) where all my other cases take the bigger ones similar to the power supply mounting screws and 2) getting back to the painted in motherboard standoffs, make sure you have a correct fitting spanner or sockets, as so much as touch the crappy paint job on the motherboard tray with a pair of needle nose plyers and you will reveal the nice shiny metal underneath, fine if you plan to put a full atx board in but not so great if you (like me) have an m-atx board, just glad i plan to upgrade it to full atx one asap.
@render50985 жыл бұрын
The 2 front fans are actually not good for the case at all, they are airflow fans, that's why the mesh/panel combo drowns them. I saw similar CPU/GPU drops to your mesh off test by replacing with Chromax NFA-14's that handle SP better.

I bought two (one silver, one anthracite) for two new builds I'm about to undertake, and my only critique would be that the Phanteks Vertical GPU Kit, which I also purchased to allow me to move the card away from the window, isn't as compatible as one might think...I may have to cut out the existing rear PCI-e bracket slots to fit it...I have yet to receive it, but am almost certain this is what I will have to do, unless the GPU sits at a comfortable position away from the glass side panel (which I doubt it will). The case does NOT come with the riser cable, only the mounting base so I purchased the kit to allow me to have a few options, e.g. using the already installed vertical slots, using the new bracket, or horizontal mounting...I have yet to decide.

The only "complaint" I've yet even heard from anyone else, is the subjective notion that those back hinged cable-management SSD-tray-door things, seem "gimmicky" or cheap. Well... they perform the function as advertised... And if you don't like them, I guess you could just take them out? I honestly don't really understand how there's a down-side. The only real idea for "improvement" I can come up with, is purely a cosmetic embellishment: Maybe if I got ambitious and fabbed an additional piece of aluminum (or Stainless? Hmm...) to go inside as a full height standoff cover-plate, to go over the top of where those internal sliding plastic cable-cover things are.

Having a duel AIO for the CPU and GPU plus having this case would make an amazing build. Let me know what I should do Science Studio!

You should go with the 9900k if you want it to be future proof for a long time.

If you get the 8700k and the 1080 ti, you'll be fine for a very long time. You don't have to swap out components as much as you think. I have an 7700k with a 1080 and I don't see myself swapping anything out for a long time. I might get a 1080ti later in the future but the 1080 is perfectly fine for what I'm doing and at this point, it'd be more of a waste of money. Also, I have an Evolv case (not this one but the previous generation) and I get decent temps with an AIO on for my CPU (push pull config w/ radiator mounted at the front) and four exhaust fans (1 140mm fan at the rear and 3 120mm fans on the top). When gaming, I usually get 50-60 degrees celsius on my GPU and CPU would sit at 45-50 degrees. I'm pretty sure you'll be okay with just the stock setup for you GPU with this case. Overall, it's a pretty nice case, comes with plenty of screws (all separated in a plastic case and extras) and the fan connection being moved to the top compare to the previous generation will make cable management a lot easier (and better looking).

Will To The Iam , Yeah I don’t feel like I need to do anything more then the 8700K and 1080ti, that’s a perfect build for 1440p @ 144hz. Which to be honest I don’t think gaming at 8K will be important 4K at most

I like it for the quality functions and options. Especially the many disk mounts. Just reworking my old AMD Desktop in there could give me a server with a lot more disks. $250-300 for such an upgrade is not bad.

I don't feel so bad about my workspace now 😅 Great case- I would like to see something similar to a Thermaltake View case but with cable channels like the NZXT cases to SHOW your cable management handiwork along with exposed PSU for nice full modular units with custom cabling. It's a shame hiding these cables when you go to all the effort.

I really want to see someone do a dual system build in this

I just wish that there was a reset button in the front like the P600S. But not a huge big deal I guess!

Temperature comparison of the built in vertical GPU mount VS the cooler master mount?? I use the built in mount of the fractal R6 and have never had a temperature issue. I would be curious to see the difference. Thanks Greg!!

Evolv X or PC o11? I want vertical GPU and will be using cooler master's bracket. Gonna be using 360mm rad.

Hey! A suggestion on types of videos; would you do a video on your favorite/top case every few months? Recommendations work too. Great videos btw

I'm really considering getting this for my new build but for some reason the Eclipse 719 full tower costs less than this. Do you know how they compare?

Just when I thought I was done with my PC was done being messed with for a while, I just had to find this case. I guess I'm gonna have to do another teardown and get my system in one of these

Which gpu mount did you use? I just bought this case and wanted to vertical. Mount the gpu but like yours in the back. Do you think it's good for a rtx 2080 ?

I'm looking towards buying a new case and two options are EvolveX and the PC-011 from Lian Li, but I'm more Interested of the PC-011 because like the side of the case like the right of the motherboard, you can mount fans or a 360 rad.

Anyone know why the galaxy silver version of this costs so much more? I see prices as high as $470 for it, but are these just jacked up prices and it can really be obtained much more cheaply?
