I remember playing Talking Angela when I was younger, it was actually kind of enjoyable to use the chat feature to talk with her. You talk about whatever and she would respond appropriately to your message. But yeah, there was also that whole “spying” hoax that people got so freaked out over. All because the design somewhat looked like something was reflecting from Angela’s eyes. In the new versions, you can see they had changed it because of that whole mess.

To be honest, it's obviously them thinking that it's funny to mess around with people not caring if they ruin the profit of the developers just to make a Creepypasta out of a single App because things like haunted/secretly creepy games are interesting to the public, especially if it look normal but you add a creepy story to it. I lived to see everyone accusing Tom to have a human inside the eye, then Ben, Ginger and every other character created. I mean, if there really was someone spying on them shouldn't they be more professional about it and avoid making the person visible through the eye? I don't even understand how that work actually, someone usually spy on someone else without being able to be seen from what I know just by using the webcam available on your PC, phone etc. Also Angela or similiar App are more like a AI who learn by real people conversations. For example Cleverbot is a great example of it, the more it hear the more it learn and it's able to answer correctly most of the time and keeping track of the conversation, the intelligence grow the more people use it. Same goes for Angela, her program is most likely something like Cleverbot or Eviebot/Boybot (even if Cleverbot seem kinda better) so everything that people will tell to her will be used by her as response even because he vocabulary doesn't have a limit. I may be wrong of course, I'm not a AI expert but I heard a bit about it and probably that's how it actually work. Either way it's stupid how people obsessed over ruining this developer work, sure maybe it made them even more popular because they were curious but at the same time they definitely ruined their reputation a lot. It may be old story but it was really stupid anyway. Maybe it's true but considering the fact that this only happened after Angela AI wasn't working at it's best it feels more like they were just being idiots. I played all games and never something like that happened to me.

When I first saw the reflection in her eyes in the old version I just thought the developers wanted to make it look like she was genuinely looking at you and her eyes reflecting your room as if she was really looking at you and listening to what you had to say (not meant in a creepy way, as in like listening to you converstation and stuff). I mean I was pretty young when I first saw them and I didn't really know any other possibilities but it still is possible it had a deeper meaning behind it. Also when she said "do you wanna talk about ---" I nearly spat out my drink.. I wasn't expecting that from her 💀

When I was playing it I stared at Angela in the eye with my freinds! Because my friends like to do pretend videos! It was about who can stare at Angela the longest! I glare at the eyes of the restless demon. I see two men! I notified my freinds asoon as possible they noticed it to! We gone to KZbin game plays of it and commented our experience. Actually its apparently disinfo though, mainly due to kids thought of the Talking Angela Game App as creepy since you know, that kind of text to speech and AI in the mobile scene was new at the time. And also due to the lack of ENOUGH information and media literacy from some people on the internet back then, when some parents saw those reviews made by people who wrote about it, whether they are making jokes like some kind of creepy pasta about it or truly meant it. And whatever the intentions, it nonetheless got people especially parents go on a haywire via immediate protective mode and restriction on their kids and other people they know and care about to not use the app and they also send reports to Outfit7 and eventually informed the news too. Though not true, the real threat at the time with many people who use and own at least 1 or more gadgets was their own internet safety and privacy, which websites and apps use to collect user data for them to make cash out of it via selling them to advertisers to promote and sell you their own products and service, whether for good, neutral, or bad intentions.

I really liked the old version of Talking Angela before My Talking Angela and the other My Talking Friends games were a thing The texting feature was really cool and she could also give you quizzes when you ask her to give you a quiz(that was actually my favorite part of the game lol) When the rumors of the game being hacked started and people started saying they saw a man in Angela's eye, toddler me uninstalled the game and stayed away from it ever since. I was honestly really sad and scared at the same time when i first heard those rumors(even though it wasn't real, i still never played it again as a kind of safety precaution) And then the My Talking ____ games were released! They were really fun and some of my favorite games(and still are)

There's a show about these talking animals called Talking Tom and Friends, the one you saw on the newspaper that Ben was reading. There is another one which I think is called Talking Friends but the content is a little too childish than Talking Tom and Friends cause it portrays their personality and the relationship between Tom and Angela. Personally, it's not that bad and not that childish for me, cause I love tech and science and the romance is just so good. Some episodes are a bit meh and cringy but most are good
