Memories coming back, very nie :) I also have still some of my Technics kit like the Tapedeck RS BX 606 and the SL-BD3 Record Player, and I just yesterday bought a SH-GE 90 like yours. I always loved the Pre and Poweramp but I never bought one after I got my Accuphase E-305V. But could be nice as a used second Amp.

The problem with this setup is that it sends the message to many people about quantity=better. It's a similar mentality to louder=better and this is just simply untrue. Yes, you have quality AND quantity, but you don't need both, just stick with quality. This would be a horrendous pain to transport for moving, not to mention the un-needed space it takes up. I fully believe in spending for quality items, so I'm with you there. That's why I own a Technics SL-1200 turntable, but this many filters is just not going to help your sound quality or your electric bill. Cry once and spend the extra money on *ONE* really nice receiver to hook your turntable up to, but then be done with it. Don't cry 10+ more times and suffer from the overspending of needless, additional equipment.

0:58 I can see the meter indicates your power amplifier is 200 watts per channel. That's a lot :) 2:58 Do you have to turn on/off them individually? Some power amplifier have two outlets on the back. Unswitched & switched. The unswitched always have power but the switched only has power if they turn on the power amplifier. When they plug their components to switched and turn off the power amplifier everything automatically turns off as well.

+bobskie321 Power amplifier turns off automatically when preamp is turned off. Preamp sends a signal to amp when it is powered off or powered on through the control cable. Each device has it's own power cord and optional control cable for powering on or off. The amplifier can supply 100W power per channel when 8 ohms speakers are connected.

All audio brands made quality hi-fi products in past, but in special Technics with rich highs, low and deep bass. Nowadays hi-fi products are expensive and they are shit, sound enough of worst or worst. My home audio line is also Technics, I bought it 25 years ago and still work but this is enough of used. I wish to change it with new one but I'm not impressed by nowadays hi-fi systems so for moment I decided to keep my actual audio line.

Hi-Fi nowadays seek for warming sound with sweet treble, soft bass and textured mid. To be honest that's not hi-fi sound, hi-fi refer to High Fidelity not Warm Fidelity.

Nowadays hi-fi audio systems incorporates digital technologies, while in past in 80's and early 90's when I consider that were built best audio systems, those were analog technologies inside. Nowadays sound is metallic, while in past was warm. And today sound is not hi-fi, can be high-quality, premium or newer high-resolution sound, but all sound pretty bad, is a hoax. And yes, hi-fi mean High-Fidelity but with warm sound in past. I like that sound.

Не ми хареса звукът. Прекалено разделена е честотната характеристика, басът е много твърд и неестествен. Лично мнение естествено, но сякаш това не е звукът на истинският техникс. :)
