Ive been using that same Factor55 hitch link for years with my soft shackles! No sign of wear or stress on the shackles. I do agree the yankum one has a more pronounced curve, but the F55 one is 100% suited for soft shackles and is still better than 90% of whats on the market!

On a "good" snow year we've taken all day with rigs from Toyota's and Samis on 42's to 3klb buggies on 47's to get to the lineman shack. Cold, dry Eastern WA snow is nothing like the go anywhere, wet Western WA snow...

I love the way this disco sounds! But the bean conversion rate is off a little bit. It requires a lot of beans to use and doesn't seem to create the same amount of beans worth of power 😆. I think some of the beans that are consumed are used to generate noise and not power. At least, that's my best guess 🤷

An excellent episode being viewed from South Africa, where we actually have some pretty darn good heavy snow trails too. Great to see you push it to the limit on the route - nobody learns anything from the easier trails, even though they are a lot of fun to play in after trying the other route. Basically a perfect trip with both experiences. You're definitely showing off how good the Discovery is in snow Nate.

i would love to see yall come to the iron range here in mn! and if ya do, lmk. id love to meet yall, hear stories and see that beautifil fab work in action. ive got a pretty stock fj cruiser, just a bash plate and better tires so nothing to write home about. but ya know yotas and you probably know how much of a billygoat the fj is, i shouldnt hold anyone back. there isnt much here in mn, but if you pass through or if its not too far off course and youre heading eastward to the apalacians or something, make an excuse to let off a little steam at the iron range.

9:13 - That Yankum recovery point might be the best you can get, if the Brennan's Garage Soft Shackle Receiver Adapter didn't exist. ;) The perfect pairing is the 1/2" Bubba's Ropes soft shackle.

@@rayjon237 Thats the plan! and an LM4 engine. Ive never done rock crawling so im not too worried about the axle, but an 'adventure' vehicle seems amazing. Surf racks, sound system, fox shocks, and 3" lift with black rhino 16" wheels, and currently wrapping it to be matte black. it's going to be a good time. Any other recommmendations @rayjon237?

Gd video bro funny I today was in upstate NY grapes fields in my Geo tracker 16 valves on 31 tires pushing snow really on lots of places having fun but I can say I don't get stuck jjjj around 2 to 2 and half feet of snow in some places my Geo tracker 16 valves 1996 was pushing on strong little horse and light weight the locker on low 4x4 really changed my 1996 2 door Geo tracker 16 valves to another level plus temp wise around 5 dg with the windshield this morning anyway kp the gd videos goin bro

@DirtLifestyle i would suggest the trails between Sherman Pass and Canada Border, there are 3 ohv trails and mountain pass roads the local clubs attempt with the snpw here. Not to mention alpine lakes that are frozen over and old fire tower points that take work to get to especially in the snow...

Why does no one use chains? We do it alle the time here in Europe. Are chains not a thing in the US?

Chains work if on ice and can dig down to find traction. They probably had 12” min below their tires before even getting to any kind of road. Once aired down, the tires flatten out and become like snow shoe allowing the rigs to “float” on top of the snow, just a guess but 5psi was probably a high tire pressure. Seen people try to use chains in that kind of snow, worked until a tire slipped, then just sat on the frame waiting to be pulled out.
