You forgot to mention the developers. When the community requests specific balance changes, Ninja Kiwi usually does it. One time when I lost my account, they responded to what I said and got my account back additionally to giving me a bonus reward for the hassle even though it was entirely my fault.

I really like your opinion. I did not pay for anything extra and now I have full monkey knowledge, max level 150 and all the tower, upgrade, hero, and skins unlocked. If you really want to try a specific upgrade, it really doesn’t take that long to get the experience for it. And you basically will not run out of monkey money because there is not much way to spend it. And I hope I can play with you when coop come out.

Every time i see gameplay of 5 I realize just how much of an improvement 6 is. From the graphics, to the upgrades, to the balance, and just overall mechanics. Whenever I used to play 5 it seemed so much better than I see it now looking back.

So, I just started playing BTD6 because of this video. And, the first thing I noticed is that it it is entirely possible for the bar to be at the bottom. It relies entirely on what your Resolution is. You see, I have two monitors, and my primary monitor is an old one, with the resolution of 1280x1024. My secondary one is widescreen. Because of this, when I first launched it, it was on my primary, more square-like primary monitor, and immediately went into the tutorial mission. And, in that, because it wasn't wide enough for the bar to be on the side, it was instead placed at the bottom for me.

I play BTD6 since release (and ever since) and the devs constantly added new stuff, and are still doing so. New tracks (54 in total now), new heroes (there are 12 now), a new game mode (Odyssey), events every now and then and rarely a new tower, Dartling Gunner being the most recent one. I guess apart from the Chipper every tower from BTD5 is now included. Normally I am absolutely turned down by microtransactions in a paid game, but this game was only 5 bucks, so that I would see these as a way to support Ninja Kiwi as a compensation for the low price and NOT as a cash grab. There is just too much love and care in this game. I played an absurd amount of BTD5 and Monkey City and totally agree with everything you said in this video. It is a perfect sequel.

Mid-summer of 2022 and they're still updating the game! Since this video they added some graphical updates, a new tower (or more, not sure) and new Heroes, a 6th upgrade tier for some towers (called Paragons), 3 new bosses, a new map (or more, not sure), new Monkey Knowledge, co-op and a new gamemode that's coming soon! There's probably more things I haven't mentioned, but those are the main new features.

Love the video man! I totally agree with everything mentioned in this video! And yes the game is currently in version 11.0 so there have been several semi-major updates that added new maps and new hero skins, along with a few major updates that added new game modes, such as co-op, or mechanics, such as challenge editor. Also each update comes with its own set of balance changes to prevent any tower from being overly powerful and also to mix up the meta and keep things fresh. Overall i think the game was a huge success and a fantastic addition to the Bloons tower defence series! Also a quick sidenote, the Heli pilot was added late into BTD 5 if I’m not mistaken with the only new towers added in BTD 6 being the Druid monkey and alchemist monkey.

I never felt an issue with leveling towers. Until the final stage (especially paragons). Its a minor issue but it feels weird that leveling up towers happens really fast and then the final unlocks takes really long. It could've curved a little better, but overall its really not an issue.

One thing you failed to mention is the fact that each tower has its own experience points. In BTD5, you just had one consecutive level that upgraded all towers when you level up. Now, you have to spend experience to unlock things different abilities for different towers.

I have been playing this franchise since btd4, grinding towers is not too hard, do not see it as a grind but rather see it as something to enjoy and learn from, I remember when it btd6 came out it took me a couple days to max it out. Just avoid free play and use those you need to level up, I am level 112 and is not pay to win. It just requires a grind and it will reward with fun time and knowledge about the game.

Good review! It seems many people do not even know Bloons Adventure Time TD exists. It is better than BTD5 imo, but it has a much different way of playing than a normal BTD game. You can’t place as many towers as you can, the main characters get stronger the more you play, and you can equip your characters with various different weapons, trinkets, and allies.

The heli pilot existed for much longer, and there are the bloonchipper and the engineer that didn't make it to the game, Monkey knowledge also existed for a pretty long time, not sure if it started in BTD 5 mobile of in Bloons Monkey City. Nice video. By the way, I recommend you to recheck the Ice tower in BTD 5, both paths has great utility, with the left path able to destroy infinite bloons when you have a village with it

Gotta say I’m happy that Aliensrock got a recommendation here, been watching him a while and he got me to purchase btd6 I just enjoyed him a lot. My only Gripes with the video is that the upgrade menu has a reason it is that big, not that it should remain that big but when it was released on mobile well... they needed big buttons for the upgrades and a fat window to read the text. I say this as MY INTERPRITATION of why it would be that size, it only makes sense to me. However other then feeling like that was a missed opportunity to me I’d say I liked the vid. Yea it's hard to make UI work on a wide variety of devices! We have to build for large and small screens so we kept the buttons bigger to make the game usable on small screens. Not saying that we can't do anything about this in the future but that is why!

4:30 Ice was very strong in btd5 flash. The low levels have infinite pierce and can perma-stall bloons if you have at least 2, and ice shards lets you shred moabs and up depending on how many bloons you stall nearby while arctic wind is basically a fail-safe for bloons. Sniper was definitely good for blimps but it's also really useful for rounds 26-39 since they have strong bloons which are weakened heavily by a 1-0 sniper, especially on maps with multiple paths.

The best/easiest way to upgrade a tower is to go to deflation, spend all of your money on single tower type. Set it to auto start and walk away. Rinse repeat. You should have any tower maxed in 2-3 matches.

Actually, the steam/mobile version of 5 had the heli pilot, as well as two other towers that haven't returned (yet) the engineer and the bloon chipper. Also they have been updating the game regularly, and will most likely continue for some time. Side note: You can actually have some control over the upgrade menu with a little trick... Just tap on a tower that slides up the menu to a side you want, then tap on the tower you plan to upgrade or sell. The menu will stay on that side, as long as you don't close it.

8:49 Except Double Cash, an option that USED to cost monkey money in the Steam Version of BTD5, now costs real money. Not only that, it costs almost twice as much as the asking price of the game itself, which I found frankly absurd. And it soured the Bloons games as a whole for me. But hey, I mean, I would still recommend Gemcraft. Especially because a sequel to Chasing Shadows is coming out in 2019.

I agree 100%. The micro transactions and leveling are sometimes a bit annoying and slow but everything else is great! Lots of upgrades, everything is useful, and you definitely can play the game without every buying a microtransaction. I just played a few games everyday and I now have tier 5 upgrades on most monkeys and I'm going for monkey knowledge :D

trick to get upgrades for towers: get to late game, get an op tower like the sun temple or something to carry u for like 30 rounds without u messing with them and just spam that specific tower, with or without upgrades

I just wish there was a way to reduce the resolution or graphics because the game tends to lag or heat up the device I’m playing on at the higher levels. I like the normal animations, but sometimes i just want to see how far i can push the levels and my computer or phone just can’t take it
